Dealing with Multiple Doctors
Last week I had a severe flare that put me in the hospital. In the afterrmath both my pulmonologist and the hospital wanted me to go down to 30mg after leaving the hospital and then do a fast taper (5mg/week). My GP's recommendation was to stay at 40mg, make sure things were stable, and then

I'm Back
I've finally come back to AUK after a really long break and a chance to kind of find myself after everything. Its been a really interesting 2 years and well, I have since been started on home nebs and now have a carer who lives in with me. I missed everyone on here so much and decided that it was time

Alternative Therapies, Gadgets and Gizmos.
I was checking the date of my next massage and reflexology when the question came to me about what really does help us with our breathing/mental problems. I have an air purifier/ioniser, shiatsu heated massager, a flutter, a power breath etc etc. I have monthly massages and have just started reflexology

Feeling very frustrated. At the momment my lungs are acting like those kids that are perfect angels after they've been to time-out and then suddenly forget what is was all about an hour or two later and have to go to the naughty chair all over again. (translation: ventolin inhaler is working, but only

Alternative Therapies
Hi - hope someone can advise me. I have been an asthmatic all my life. Worse when i was a child and hardly any problems as an adult. Have recently had an asthma attack.. At first did not realise as it has been more than 30 years since I last had one. I thought I had a chest infection/bronchtitis.

Nebulizer
I have just purchased a Philips nebulizer. Similar to the one in my GP's surgery. I am allowed to use it four times a day but so far twice is enough. I get immediate releif from the SOB+++ The downside is, other than the cost which had to come out of my rainy day money is I get a bit of the shakes

Just how long does it take you ?
To actually get going of a morning. It takes me about an hour to convince myself that I have to get up. Its not that Im bedbound but I know that my body doesnt like the hassle. I liken it to switching on a radiator in a cold house. Nothing happens for ages and the house stays cold. But

Understanding COPD
Hello all, I'm new to this site and a bit puzzled as to my husband's health. He was admitted to hospital 24th Jan with breathing difficulties and was an awful colour, he's had a bad chest for years but wouldn't go to the doctors, typical male! He was diagnosed with exacerbation of COPD and was kept
