Lupron Almost Always Works but Is The Grim Reaper...But Here is a Case when Less is Better Than More
If Oligo ( 5 or fewer) go after the PCa again with radiation, which almost always fails because radiation selects for the most aggressive 5% of cancer cells which survive and go on to form tumors....or scans reveal more than 5 hot spots so Lupron is started with or without
taxotere

Maybe Taxotere Is Not Such a Good Idea - The Sad Case of Tom Johnson
Tom seems to never have fully recovered from
Taxotere
- I still think
Taxotere
can permanently damage the immune system. Some say no evidence but if you look at clinical trials for Prostvac and other Immune Therapy prior chemo is a disqualification.

Still have your prostate?
My initial treatment was 10 rounds of
Taxotere
followed with monthly injections of Lupron and Xgeva. I'm in remission now. Has anyone been through the same treatment, but has thier prostate removed.

24 Years and counting..........
I am presently getting (
Taxotere
) chemo injections every three weeks. Medications I have had -- Elgaed, Xgeva, Predisone, Delepain,Neupagen Y, Zytiga,Proveng, Xofigo. I did a group A clinical trial (no placebo) for about 5 months, but discontinued because of the side effects.

First time
I also had one session of
taxotere
. I am now on firmagon and Xtandi with a PSA of 1.4 but having lots of side effects. I can function well enough though and I am glad to still be here.

We are being treated at NYU Langone, where18 days ago he started lupron and two week ago his first cycle of
taxotere

Does My Oncologist have the right plan to extend my life as long as possible ?
He told us that in Newer trials , they found that giving a person of my age ( Kinda young for advanced cancer and pretty healthy) Megadoses of
Taxotere
from the start to the finish of them, the have gotten very good results.

Question, is Chemo for prostate cancer using
taxotere
really a sensible treatment is the benefit vs. cost (pain, sickness , health risk ) worth it?

Still in treatment since August 2015. Any advise?
Just after 2 days my stomach is huge and bloated again and the fluid must be back I'm starting chemo tomorrow back at my previous hospital with
taxotere
and oxiplatin. It seems I only have 20% chance of chemos working since I've been on so many chemo combos and for such a long time.

Look for happiness in tough times
Had port put in and was started on zometa and
taxotere
. Was just released from chemo with a psa of 1.8 and bone lesions less active and smaller in size. Lung nodules stable and not growing. Now the doctor wants to start me on Xtandi with the Lupron I have been taking for 3 years.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: BioPerine / CYP3A4
A
Taxotere
(Docetaxel) injection escapes the first pass effect, but the drug is ultimately metabolized by CYP3A4. Bioperine would potentially extend the half-life of the drug.

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Fisetin
Cabazitaxel belongs to the same family (taxanes) as Docetaxel (
Taxotere
). Fisetin might act synergistically. ... Eventually, two products came to market. Oddly, with very similar names.
