sinemet constipation
No constipation since starting
sinemet
last Sunday, 4 days regular bowel movement and twice yesterday. I keep a record of my bowel movement so that leads me to believe the credit goes to
sinemet
. I will take that symptom, if it continues, to my discussion with my neuro on the 24th February, 2016.

Hello I would like to introduce myself.
I am currently taking amantadine and
sinemet
but its difficult to know how beneficial these are. I am wondering if anyone has tried ropinirole and also botox? I am thinking that botox might help with my right hand which is sorely affected. My speech is not good and I am awaiting speech therapy.

Tips on Taking Your Medications
If you have missed a
Sinemet
dose by 30 minutes or less, chewing the tablets (tastes like chalk) can sometimes hasten the benefits. Perhaps this is because of more rapid absorption through the lining of the mouth. Do not chew
Sinemet
CR or the other PD drugs.

Knowledge is Power: understanding our medications.
Guess what levadopa (
sinemet
, madopar etc) half life is 60 - 90 minutes!! Research shows that altogether it lasts up to 3 1/2 hrs. Not long is it. In the beginning you can store a bit so once, twice or three times a day medication regimes work.

Is it just me?
He had me on the
Sinemet
for over a year before he approached me with DBS. Therefore I am not knowledgeable on the drugs out there or the drugs for PD that everyone else seems so knowledgeable about.

"A Type of Parkinson's that Does Not Respond to Any Medications"...the neurologist said about my dad. Anyone know about this?
He's been on
Sinemet
and Azilect and possibly another prescription. The natural Mucuna Pruriens seemed to help some! But last month he's taken a drastic turn for the worse. Do you know anything about THIS TYPE PARKINSON'S and WHY DOESN'T RESPOND TO RX? Thank you all!

CHANGING DIAGNOSIS
Supposedly the
sinemet
does not help anyone with PSP but in his case I saw a difference. I don't know what to do, since there is no one here in Ocala who can handle his supposed PSP. READY TO SCREAM. Auddonz (Audrey)

At diagnosis I tried Madopar and later on
Sinemet
, looking back I think the drs then had me increase the dosage too quickly and soon I felt so ill I was unable to work. Not nauseous but completely fatigued, sweaty, felt terrible. So I stopped both trials after a week or so.

Father diagnosed with PD; no tremors, just really bad rigidity & stiffness
He's taking
sinemet
25/100 3 times daily. It has helped his energy levels. I think. I see him more alert during the day. Before he would just fall asleep anywhere & wouldn't have any energy for life. I don't let him drive anymore & requires assistance getting dressed , bathed etc.

Taking Parkinson's meds with food
I'd imagine not everyone is fully aware that taking Parkinson's medications, such as
Sinemet
or Madopar, ought NOT to be taken, according to the information given in the following link, at the same time as eating a meal with protein in it.

REALLY ROTTEN NIGHT
Can I cry, I did last night :( Spoke to his Dtr today and she wants me to try upping the
sinemet
again and see what happens. She admitted its trial and error to see what works and wants to get him for a test one morning without taking any of it.

I have been on
sinemet
(carbidopa/levodopa) since 2002 and have had good success; however I recently went through what I thought was low blood sugar issues, so began looking for a solution.

In South Africa there is a shortage of
Sinemet
-CR, the rumors are that it's going to be 18 months before there is available stock!

Changing from Mirapex to Sinemet
I was on
Sinemet
for several months and a new neurologist changed me to Mirapex. I have been on it for two moths and it is not working as well as
Sinemet
. I have read several reports that it is very difficult to come off Mirapex. Has anyone come off it and how difficult was it?
