Scared Of Attack - Need Better Management - Help Please
I am 45 and a reasonably serious Mountain Biker. When I get a period of wheezing I have no regime to cope so just limit exercise to zero and wait it out with my Salbutamol and Becotide puffers. This recent hot weather has been no friend of mine and has stopped my doing anything as I feel like I am drowning

I tend to take my salbutamol through a spacer, and my asthma has been terrible the past 6 months, 13 hopsital admissions! haven't had one lately luckily, but still use my reliever many many times a day. I was told by a doctor that day to day I shouldn't be taking it more than 6 times a day! I use way

Coming to you from...
my hospital bed. Just a quick how do to the few people who understand such an episode. last sunday, i put myself in a taxi to a&e, struggling to breathe and very tachycardic. 8 days later and i'm still here. nebulised first (not all at once) with salbutamol, saline, and sodium chloride. i.v. of magnesium

New member - question about using peak flow meter
I have a very mild form of asthma, diagnosed winter 2007. The doctor prescribed the classic blue salbutamol reliever, boy what a relief. I've only needed to use it sporadically. When I get a bit of trouble, it is excaberated hugely by synthetic scents like those found in air freshener or cigarette smoke

Recently diagnosed with lots of questions and struggling
I have recently been diagnosed with Asthma after a very bad chest infection I've had for the the past few months and had difficulties with my GP. I was finally admitted to hospital and started to be treated but this does not appear to be improving, the consultant is seeing me weekly following my discharge

newly diagnosed and suffering from the dreaded cold!
Hi Everyone! I've just been diagnosed with asthma a few weeks ago despite having had lung problems on and off for the vast majority of my life! I was born with bronchial pneumonia, then had acute childhood bronchitis up until 16. Then from my early twenties I went through a spate of chest infections

Asthma is out of control again. I hate it, I wish the thing would start behaving
Well I am now into month 10 of the asthma being hell. I changed GP as my old GP was useless and the new one is so much better but I still seem to be seeing him every other week. I am so fed-up. I have been on 5 courses of prednisolone already this year which is 4 more than last year, been on anti-bioctics

Sounds useful 4 winter!
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A heat exchange mask, designed to improve comfort in cold temperatures, also seems to protect against asthma triggered by breathing cold, dry air, according to a report in the medical journal Chest. Asthma occurs when the airways tighten, limiting breathing. Cold, dry air
