Does it sound like she will ""grow out of it""?
Hi all, My 2year old little girl has recently been diagnosed with asthma by a peaditrician. She has had a recurring cough since she was 3mths old, croup and a wheezy cough which resulted in a nebuliser and trip hospital. We now have an asthma plan of salbutamol and the brown inhaler (2 puffs morning

Ventolin/salbutamol reliever nearly expired
My previous ""blue"" inhaler has just run out and when I went to the medicine cabinet, the other one I had turns out to be about to expire. The ""new"" (i.e. unused) inhaler is the same kind (blue Ventolin Evohaler of 100 micrograms salbutamol sulphate) was prescribed in December 2011 and is stamped

Rivaroxaban is not for me, or was it? Aches and pains getting very bad again after 3.5 days off Rivaroxaban.

January 2013 Medication: For longstanding asthma (38 years): Symbicort 400/12, 2 puffs twice a day, and occasional Salbutamol; For longstanding Paroxysmal

Fostair - New Inhaler
I saw my asthma nurse yesterday and she changed my inhaler to a new one ( At least new to me anyway) called Fostair. It's a combination inhaler - Reliever and steroid. I'm presuming the Reliever is Formoterol fumarate dihydrate and the steroid preventer is Beclometasone dipropionate. Just really wanted

Flixotide nebules
I was wondering if anyone has these as their usual preventer at all? I'm tempted to ask my consultant if we can try them - I find flixotide really irritates my throat and takes away my voice, and as I find salbutamol easier to deal with in a neb, I was hoping I might the Flixotide too. We are running

Advice for severe asthma and 1st consultant appt?
Hi, I'm new to the forum but have had asthma for about 10 years as an adult. I have been very ill for the past 3 years with lyme disease and another infection called Bartonella, after an insect bite in Southern England. I have always been able to manage my asthma with becotide inhalers at 100mcg - 200mcg

Newly Diagnosed Daughter
I newly registered on Asthma UK website today as my 5yr old daughter Natalie had an asthma attack on Friday 24/5/13. She has suffered with chest/breathing problems for a while and I have made suggestions to the GP for several months that she is showing signs of asthma symptoms. She has always been diagnosed

Asthma Review
Hiya, I'm posting because I had an asthma review with my surgery's ""asthma nurse"" today (who has no formal asthma training!), which was a weird experience. I have never had a review before - I usually have to see my GP/be treated in hospital. I am currently waiting to see a consultant and am on stage

Salbutamol and blood sugar levels
I've just found out (googled a hunch) that high-ish doses of salbutamol and salmeterol can raise blood sugar. This happens through the same mechanism that lowers potassium, and as I regularly get low potassium, I'm guessing that I also get the blood-sugar raising effect. On saturday I had lots of acute

Flare-up's once the pollen comes out!
I've recently had a pretty bad flare-up of my asthma symptoms, forcing me to be rushed to hospital last week on nebulisers and prednisolone. I'm sixteen and until last year, my asthma seemed to be pretty well-controlled. However, last June I ended up in hospital with pneumonia, and the result= my asthma
