Finally got a diagnosis!
Hi, Went to the clinic on Monday - got diagnosed with Bronchiectasis - damage to both lungs. Finally the reason I have been coughing so much has an answer. My Asthma seems to be a symptom rather than the cause but it still gets quite severe when pushed. Part of me is really relieved. The other feels

Don't know what to do

chest infection doens't seem to be shifting.
I had a cold which seems to have fully shifted. after a couple of days of it shifting, I started coughing really dark yellow/brown-ish stuff up. mentioned it to a nurse (I was in hospital for something unrelated to my asthma) and she spoke to a doctor & I was eventually discharged with antibiotics which

Confusing bit of advice
I visited my local GP today (despite going walk in to get checked out yesterday following attack) as I already had it scheduled and I told her what has been going on past couple of weeks. Been given pred but told not to take it for at least a week (just completed 5 days) as she thinks I am getting better

How I feel vs. Visible/Measurable Symptoms
I have posted recently saying I'm having a bad time at the moment, needing inhaler every day , constant tight chest, usually I like to run but it is out of the question, extremely out of breathe just walking to shops. Also I'm having an attack a month at the moment, never had this before (in my 3ish

Great presentation on life-threatening asthma treatment

Montelukast & coordination problems
I started on Montelukast in late October, and some time between then and the middle of December I developed a bad tremor that mostly affects my hands and arms. I've also become extremely clumsy, regularly walking into stuff, and I drop things without warning. My hands frequently seize up, and then I

Recently diagnosed
I was given
Salbutamol
and
Beclometasone
inhalers. I am still feeling breathless even with using them. It is so hot these last few days and could that be the reason? My nose is blocked and that makes me panic when cant breath. I can breath ok via mouth.

Help keeping house cool in hot weather
I have had a terrible time with the heat we've been having recently, my breathing has deteriorated and I have been exhausted with the heat, Inside my home I have been living with 30C degrees day time and night time temps lucky if it drops to 25C. I've been doing the usual keeping blackout curtains

asthma, anxiety or both?
How can you tell the difference between the 2? I think it may be both but I'm not sure how to tell. my peak flow is constantly around 320-330 (before salbutamol), my best is usually 490/500. my inhalers seem to bring it up to 360-370. my only symptoms are chest pain/tightness which eases with

What Next?? More Pred?
Hello Like many people on here, my asthma has flared up lately with the very warm weather and the pollen count being so high. I was put on Pred 40mg for 5 days by the nurse at my GP surgery, and I'm just coming to the end of another 5 day course as I am still having symptoms. I've also started using

Asthma attack two days ago, breathless today but no wheeze
I had a (wheezy) asthma attack on Saturday, paramedics were called and I ended up having two rounds of neb- one with salbutamol and the other with ipratropium. I'm one of those lucky people who reacts really well to nebs and clears up my wheeze entirely, but that does leave me with the issue of seeing

I was diagnosed 8 years ago with copd and was prescribed salbutamol and atrovent.
