Help advice please.
Hi, I'm new to this and would really appreciate some advice please. My 2 and half year old son was officially diagnosed with asthma 2 weeks ago. (Although I know he had had it for ages but doctors wouldn't listen). I had myself a very mild cold like bug last week, and it seems my son has picked

Furosmide and Digoxin, Warfarin and salbutamol?
I have scaring to my lungs both inside and outside, which has given me 53% lung function. So I now have to take Furosmide water tablets for a month to see if that helps when I am flat? My O2 drops when I am flat. He stated that my graph showed that I was consistently bad even after my salbutamol blast

Just been told I have emphysema.
Hi, new here, my GP admitted me to hospital last week because she thought I had clots on lung. Had CTPA scan and no clots, and first doctor said chest x-ray was fine apart from more air in lungs than normal. The next day consultant examined me and looked again at x-ray, said there are signs of emphysema

Atrovent and Spiriva?
Hi, My gp has just changed me over to spiriva to take once a day from atrovent 4 times a day. Was wondering whether anyone has any experiences as whether it has helped get more control? I have been told that the spiriva replaces atrovent as it is a long acting version of the same drug. Compared

Finally got a diagnosis!
Hi, Went to the clinic on Monday - got diagnosed with Bronchiectasis - damage to both lungs. Finally the reason I have been coughing so much has an answer. My Asthma seems to be a symptom rather than the cause but it still gets quite severe when pushed. Part of me is really relieved. The other feels

Don't know what to do
It's been a while since I posted here as Thomas has had a fairly stable summer. Since the end of august we are back struggling despite his usual meds of seretide 125 2 puffs twice a day, nedocromil, flixonase and salbutamol. He had a course of steroids about 5 weeks ago and is now on another after an

chest infection doens't seem to be shifting.
I had a cold which seems to have fully shifted. after a couple of days of it shifting, I started coughing really dark yellow/brown-ish stuff up. mentioned it to a nurse (I was in hospital for something unrelated to my asthma) and she spoke to a doctor & I was eventually discharged with antibiotics which

Confusing bit of advice
I visited my local GP today (despite going walk in to get checked out yesterday following attack) as I already had it scheduled and I told her what has been going on past couple of weeks. Been given pred but told not to take it for at least a week (just completed 5 days) as she thinks I am getting better

How I feel vs. Visible/Measurable Symptoms
I have posted recently saying I'm having a bad time at the moment, needing inhaler every day , constant tight chest, usually I like to run but it is out of the question, extremely out of breathe just walking to shops. Also I'm having an attack a month at the moment, never had this before (in my 3ish

Great presentation on life-threatening asthma treatment
http://emergencymedicineireland.com/2013/05/the-crashing-asthmatic/ Worth 20 minutes of your time - not least because it explains why Mag Sulphate works and covers things like the dangers of IV salbutamol. It's very honest about the poor evidence base for most treatments - which might help some of
