3 year old struggling to get the right care
My daughter was diagnosed at the age of 20mths with a persistent cough and occasional wheeze/asthmatic. She suffered with a constant choking cough from the age of 3mths (always worse at night to be told her chest was clear when we visited GP in the day) Since her diagnosis she has been on Montelukast

My lungs arnt happy even on max everything .Put on carbocsistine. by AnE as the mucous chokes me. It does get scary even though sometimes my PF not changed much. Accidentally took an extra puff of sybmicort
I am on 400/12 twice daily and I just took an extra puff without thinking, instead of my salbutamol, which I meant to take because my chest was tight. I just wondered whether I should do anything about it. I only took one puff absent mindedly. I took my usual dose at around 8am.

4 year old falling through the cracks in the NHS
Hi, I would love some advise on this issue. My 4 year old had his first asthma attack (completely out of the blue) 2 years ago so when he was 2 and a half. This was in the spring and doctors think hayfever may have set it off. He stayed two nights in hospital recovering, then was sent home with Salbutamol

Saline nebs?
Ended up admitted this weekend and discovered I'd been written up to have saline nebs prn as well as salbutamol ones. Although the care in general was great I wasn't that impressed I'd been written up for something without any explanation of why or what it was for (there was one dr who was rather tactless

Being referred to Preston?
Hi everyone! Hope you're all well! I'm just wondering if anyone is treated in Preston for their asthma? I've recently been back in hospital, my lungs are really hating life recently and my consultant in Liverpool isn't happy with how things are going. I've had xolair since November and got worse rather

I use a nebulizer for an albuterol solution. Can I use it for a saline solution as I have read about on this site?
Do you need a prescription for the saline solution or can you make it yourself. If so, how? I always carefully clean the nebulizer device (except for the tube) so there is no problem with contamination. I have a salt pipe but have not used it recently.

To repeat myself....I have been on atrovent and salbutamol for 2 years, but 6 months ago It was said I needed something extra........I have
used Seritide, Symbicort, Oxis and Qvar for a month at a time with no added help. I have now been prescribed ....Fostair as a last resort before I am sent to a consultant. Does anyone have any experience of Fostair?

Atrovent experiences?
My son Leo, as some of you will know, has a rough time of it with asthma attacks and is on Seretide 125 in the mornings, Seretide 50 in the evenings, prednisolone more often than not and of course salbutamol (no longer on Singulair as this is more for allergic asthma and his triggers are viral and weather

Front crawl swimming advise.
Hi there, I am a keen swimmer and desperately trying to get my weight down and in shape as I am going to do my Pool Life Guard course. My problem is not chest tightness or coughing that I would normally get with my Asthma, I'm Brittle. But mainly I don't seem to get my breathing very synced , I can

Running with chest infection/asthma
I'm very encouraged by posts on here re running with asthma. After several long running chest infections last year I got diagnosed with adult onset asthma. The chest infections meant I had long periods away from doing much running which was depressing. Having finally got to an NHS Respiratory Clinic
