Albuterol important question
Hi all, Ran out of my preventative inhaler because it's too expensive here in the USA and I haven't been able to get it. Anyway, I've been using my Albuterol nebulizer a couple times every day pretty much, as my asthma is obviously acting up since I don't have my medicine. Anyway, is it okay than I'm

Shielding , work from home or stay in work
I have had asthma since about 4 ( now 52) and am on salbutamol, Fostair 200, montelukast and have just started Spiriva. Last lockdown whenI wasn’t on spiriva my risk assessment put me to work from home due to having 3 lots of steroids in last 12 months , but I haven’t had steroids since Jan this year

Inhalers: what to take and when!
Hi everyone! Hope you are well and staying safe! This is more an infomercial for newbies to asthma than anything else! I know starting out it can be quite confusing as to what to take when, especially when it’s not been explained why, so thought I’d do a (hopefully) short post about it! INHALER DESIGN

Beclometasone (powder)
Hi! My GP has asked if I'd be willing to switch to the powder form of beclometasone. I agreed, however when I inhale , I don't have the sensation that the powder is coming out of the inhaler at all! Is this normal? (I have clicked to release the powder before inhaling). Thanks 😊

Inhalers and Atrial Fibrillation
I have been given an Aero Chamber and Salbutamol ventolin evohaler. My GP suspected asthma although I havent officially been diagnosed with it. Apparently because of the Covid they are not doing lung function tests. I suffer with Atrial Fibrillation for which I take Flecainide. After reading about the

Fed up of my lungs... anyone wanna swap? 😉😂 (an ode to the last 6 months 😉)
Hey everyone - this is more a rant/decompression cause I’m fed up than anything else so feel free to ignore! And I know there are others out there a lot worse off than me 😅 (I’ve been there myself) I think it hit me harder mentally and I’m more fed up cause the issues have come after a period of good

Untreatable Asthma?
Most asthmatics I know use a daily inhaler and rescue when exercising and are okay. I use a daily max and Albuterol in between every day even though I don't exercise. I think I have something more sinister going on. I just can't move around much, because breathing so bad. I think it's something nuerological

Why is 2 puffs of my Salbutamol inhaler not always working?
The last few days I’ve had to use my inhaler a lot more than usual, mostly in the middle of the night and after an episode of coughing. The last 2 days though, I’m finding that 2 puffs is not enough- I’m needing either 3 or 4. Is this normal? I’m aware that I need to speak to my team about needing my

Order of treatments?
Bit of a basic question but when it comes to inhaled treatments, I know the order is supposed to be: bronchodilator mucoactive treatments chest clearance steroids etc. I’ve been on the same regimen for a while but I’m a bit confused because my steroid inhaler is a combination inhaler so it’s a steroid

How long between nebulisers?
Evening everyone. I’ve just used my salbutamol nebuliser for the first time. I also now have saline solution to use in the nebuliser. Does anyone know if there a minimum time to wait in between using salbutamol and saline solution?

Qvar question
Short version: possible Covid back in March, persistent breathlessness helped by salbutamol, was put on Qvar 50 2bd. 5 months on, docs are still saying I'm post-viral and can come off it any time, but every time I try, my lungs feel sore and itch intensely as if I've got mosquito bites inside me. Increasing

Prednisolone Rant
Like some posts of late guessed, ignored the signs over last week, more through not wanting to take steroids. With shielding been using separate bathroom, and with arthritis made more sense I use the walk in not the bath shower. Came back upstairs after shower, couldn't breath, of dropped, after my

Better at night?
The breathlessness never went away, and I was given
salbutamol
which worked most of the time and Qvar (
beclometasone
) but I still had that chest tightness and horrid, intense itching in my lungs.

What Happens at the Severe/Difficult Asthma Clinic
Its something that comes up quite a lot on here and I’ve seen it mentioned a few times recently so I thought I would write a post about my experiences at a severe asthma clinic and the kind of things they do there as I think I’ve had about every test under the sun at mine!! Just be aware, though that

Anyone else still shielding and reluctant to send children back to school?
Hi all, I have severe allergic asthma, uncontrolled since November 2019. I have had 4 attacks, 2 hospital stays, numerous courses of steroids and struggle every day. I can’t speak or move freely. I am usually able to carry out essential household tasks but am taking 10-40+ puffs of salbutamol (reliever

New diagnosis, working on getting meds right
I suspect this is likely to be a work-in-progress forever as the goalposts keep moving, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I've been on Qvar 50 2 puffs twice a day since mid-May, and I finally got to actually see the respiratory nurse for the first time since March, and she's increased it to 3 puffs twice

Ethical Salbutamol Supplier Sought
I’d like to get a spare inhaler for my partner. She is prescribed Salbutamol. In an ideal world the seller would contribute some of the sale proceeds to the work of Asthma Uk Does such a seller exist? If so I’d appreciate their contact details. Thanks

Finally, progress?
So what was initially a very disheartening process of getting a call from the respiratory registrar today saying that he would not increase treatment and see me in 3 months time (despite me needing daily salbutamol and having a severely decreased exercise tolerance from my last admission in hospital)
