Taken Levo 17 hours before blood draw by mistake
I have mistakenly taken my 2nd Levo and second Liothyronine doses 17 hours before my blood draw. I’m guessing this will mess up my results for my endocrinology appointment? My nhs endocrinologist always tells me to take both at the normal time regardless of the test. Thanks

I made it to 8 weeks. This feels like a long post - I have both Thyroid and Iron issues to work out... I tried to make it shorter, but did not succeed, so here is a 5 bullet summary first.
TL;DR: Got results I didn't quite expect:
- I only changed a wee bit... + 12.5 on the levo

Needing some input after gastroscope
Hi all: So I had a gastroscope yesterday and today I’m riddled with extreme fatigue. I’ve had a gastroscope before and never experienced such fatigue. The other times there was an anesthesiologist that gave me drugs to put me to sleep. This time an egotistic doctor informed me the procedure would be

Extremely upset
Has anyone ever been told they can't have a levothyroxine increase until their tsh is over a five. I'm currently at a tsh of 1.77 with a range of 0.36 to 3.74. My free t4 is 1.01 Rage is 0.76 to 1.46. Feeling exhausted with the low free t4 but being refused even a boost from 125mcg to 137. Any reasons

Side effects after a dose increase?
Hi, I have been on levothyroxine for around 18 months. To start with, my results were always 'subclinical' with my TSH around 5. I was symptomatic (cold, fatigue, puffy, aches) and prescribed 25 levo which was increased to 50 after 12 weeks. I was left on 50 for around a year and then bumped up to 75

TSH rising inexplicably
Hi, I haven’t posted for years because things had been as stable as they could be for someone with ME, but in the last year my TSH has gone from suppressed on T3 only therapy to high ‘normal’ to just over ‘normal’ to my latest blood of TSH 7.86. Sorry this is a long post I am a complicated case.

After Radioactive iodine treatment, what do I put on travel insurance docs?
Hi, Can anyone tell me ... 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease, treated with Carbimazole and then in March 2023 I had radioactive iodine treatment. Over the course of 2023 I had repeated blood tests, and now I take daily levothyroxine. So I assume I am no longer classed as having

Getting worse!
Confused I’m going back time and time again to the same issue. My life is getting home as quickly as possible so I can sleep The weight gain! I’m careful what I eat. In fact I’m possibly not eating enough . No appetite . I could sleep 14 hours .So levo was raised to 150 and I feel the same. Thousands

thyroid?cortisol?
hello everyone , I’m writing from France, where information about thyroid/adrenals correlation are quite inexistants , as well as doctors aware of. One year ago I’ve been diagnostics of secondary hypothyroidism (TSH 0,6 FT4 7,9 range 9,2-17) FT3 2,5 range 2-4,4). At the ecography my gland is small

GP vs. Endocrinologist
I am under the care/supervision of an endocrinologist. I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid over 20 years ago. My GP is aware and agreed that my endocrinologist takes blood samples and “tweaks” my dose of medicines accordingly. My blood test results from the Endocrinologist on 11 July 2023

marshmallow root
After reading some answers to my previous post on Slippery Elm someone also mentioned marshmallow root so I looked it up. Would you believe it is also said to help with bladder issues. This being music to my ears as still having UTIs (putting this down to my thyroid levels being low and the long slow

Thyroid research project
I wrote to complain about the thyroid research being carried out in Newcastle and there have been a little flurry of emails with me getting nowhere. Here is what has been written. The article he refers to can be found in THYROID Volume 31, Number 5, 2021 Clinical Outcomes After Discontinuation of Thyroid

Hashimotos, just starting Levothyroxine
Hi all, I have been feeling exhausted and not myself recently and my GP did a raft of tests to see if there were any obvious causes. I tested positive for Thyroid peroxidase antibodies and my TSH was elevated at 4.7, so they retests and it came back 6.3 They've agreed to start me on Levothyroxine

changing from Armour to levo
Hi all I take armour thyroid and have done for over 10 yrs now. I was originally prescribed this by a private doctor but further down the rd I found a way to buy Armour myself so I self medicate. I test my levels regularly (probably every 4-6 months) and I’ve felt in a good place for years. That’s

Transitioning from NDT to T3 (slowly) - anyone done this? Or combines NDT with t3?
Hello there, After many years unsuccessfully on Levo, then NDT, NDT+T4, I'm trying NDT and T3...and it's tricky. My timing might be incorrect, I take now 3 daily doses and I'm feeling overmedicated in the afternoon (tight chest, dizzy, weird energy, hunger, sweaty feet, blurry vision etc.). I take

secondary hypo and doctor questioning diagnosis
Hello everyone, I moved to a new GP in the last few years (house move). When I moved, my doctor just continued prescribing levothyroxine because it was on my records and although he wasn't testing T3 he did look at T4 and seemed to listen to me when I explained the levels I needed to be at, in order
