Very Severe Emphysema at 41, but feel OK
Hi everyone. I’m new to this group, but have found reading some of your stories really useful. I’m 41 and recently diagnosed with very severe emphysema. It’s come as a big shock, to an extent. I’ve never been a big smoker, mostly socially, but have had a long history of asthma and allergies affecting

Please Help!
In reading FEV1, do we go by pre reference or post reference? My pulmonologist gave me an inhaler and after 2 minute he continued the test, I spoke with another guy who has copd, he told me that my doc should have waited 10 minutes then continue, does this affect the FEV1? Thank you.

Premature Ventricular Contracture
I’ve had lots of spells of lightheaded ness recently and wonder if it’s connected to the
PVC
(and also what it might lead to). Does anyone else have
PVC
? How does it affect you?

Stress induced anxiety?
When I was pregnant I was diagnosed with ectopic beats (
PVC
- premature ventricular contractions), which I was told is nothing to worry about and is common. I had a full fledged panic attack before I found out I was pregnant, then didn’t have any until after I gave birth then kept having them.

COPD review
Afternoon all Just been for my review. The doc was not overly happy with my results. They are organising a chest consultant for me (only had a nurse so far) I have been put on completely new meds - Trimbow - which has replaced both of my usual puffers. My FEV1 was at 30% so borderline stage 4?

Understanding basic spirometry readings
When we visit our specialist they always seem to hush or readings or not explain them to us, so if anyone can give me an idea what mine means it would be great, I know we are not doctors but between us we all have a bit of info that can help each other out. FEV1 of 3.14 and an FVC of 4.41 giving a ratio

What beta blocker is the best for PVCs/pacs
I really feel like I need to start it now. For 3 days when I’m walking around I’m getting constant PVCs every few seconds. Double me over. Doctor says my hearts healthy ..deal with it.

Fev1
Hi i got a letter off my consultant today and it says fev1\fvc 1.35/2.55. Recent best 2.2/2.5 ( 2008 ). What does this mean? I don't know the readings of spiromatory test. Is this similar to peak flow?

Another ablation?
I have had 2 unsuccessful catheter ablations for PVCs and bigeminy which are non life threatening but difficult to live with - currently back on flecainide 2x50mg - my cardiologist is now talking of possible epicardially approach using RMT stereotaxis ??? Anyone have experience of this ?
