Is Schizoaffective disorder the same as puerperal psychosis?
Today the psychiatric nurse visiting me said that I could have schizoaffective disorder rather than puerperal
psychosis
. Is that a different illness or the same, the symptoms seem identical for each illness but the prognosis is different.

Trapped in the cycle of abuse.
One of my brother's ended up a cannabis addict and suffered some kind of mental
psychosis
. He was very difficult to get along with and couldn't live a life outside of the family home because of it.

What was the aftermath of your recovery once you started feeling better?
I didn't expect this, I thought once the
psychosis
was over, I would be fine, did anyone else feel the same?

How do I help my sister?
Okay, this is long, but in a nutshell my question is, now that my little sister has come out of her first episode of acute postpartum
psychosis
, what should we be doing to help her? How much space should we give her? And her husband? If she doesn't want to talk about it, is that normal and okay?

A GRANNY'S PP EXPERIENCE - supporting your daughter (posted on behalf of my mother who was by my side throughout)
After a few days of this, my daughter had been seen by the psychiatrist, diagnosed with Postpartum
Psychosis
and admitted to a psychiatric clinic but thankfully for me, had asked my husband and I to go to see her. We went immediately to see her and her poor husband and dear little baby.

Getting ECT, please help
Well, they are suggesting I try that starting either this week or next, to help eliminate the rest of my
psychosis
. Well, I am really nervous. I am afraid of dying or waking up during or severe cognitive impairment, or memory loss. Please tell me your experiences with ECT.

Has anyone else experienced difficulty bonding emotionally with their baby after PPP?
Hi, I wondered if anyone else has had difficulty experiencing close bonding emotions with their little ones following PPP? I've struggled with this since my little boy was born nearly a year aho and I'm not sure whether it is due to the condition or side effects of the medication I am on (aripriprazole

12 months of recovery
These are the essentials of postpartum
psychosis
(PP), as it happened to me. Suffice it to say that after some fantastic psychiatric care and steadfast support from my husband and wider family, I got better.

What messages would your message(s) be to midwives about PPP? How did they help you? How did they not?
Hello all, I'm a PPP survivour and I'm writing an article for a magazine for midwives here in Australia to help raise awareness of PPP and help promote my book, Day Six. The editor has asked me to talk about what helped and what didn't help when it came to my interaction with midwives. I want as many

thyroid conditions and psychosis
No symptoms of
psychosis
since. I have always thought that the
psychosis
was caused by my thyroid condition but there was a lot of cross-over with PND and PP and was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with a thyroid condition?

Is it possible to have PP for 5 years?
Hi everyone. I've been suffering with PP for 5 years. I feel miserable on a daily basis. My family doesn't understand. Most importantly my psychiatrist have not prescribed me anything that has help significantly. I'm stuck & don't know what to do. If anyone has any advice to offer, I'm open ears at this

Subject: Weight loss and Olanzapine! So how long did it take for you to lose your weight gain caused by Olanzapine?
And this time I took 5mg, then 2.5mg of Olanzapine as a preventative, after having had postpartum
psychosis
with my 1st born and having been sectioned. This time has been smooth sailing which is great. But I've gone from size 10 to a big size 14 which is pretty miserable.

I'm back (briefly), and I'm sorry.
It's no excuse, but to give you a bit of context my
psychosis
was making me see the world in a VERY distorted way. I didn't trust anyone, including my own thoughts. Health wise I'm physically still a bit unstable, but well enough to come home. I lost a lot of blood, so just feeling weak really.

I have decided to go into a hospital/burn out center to try and get myself into a healthier routine. This means that my son has to be with
I am sleeping with the help of a drug for
psychosis
which made me really unhappy to take because I don't suffer from
psychosis
but depression and anxiety. It works though and I have been sleeping for almost 2 months through. I really hate taking all this medication but I am feeling much better.

One year on I am wondering: where did my psychosis come from?
But it is now officially one year since I had an episode of
psychosis
. As such, I have ben thinking about it more frequently in the last few weeks. My thoughts are never really far away from what happened to me. But I have been thinking about my mental health a lot more, in the recent weeks.

New Book - Personal Account of PP & Postpartum Depression
I experienced postpartum
psychosis
and postpartum depression after the births of both of my children in 2003 & 2006. Both times my PP was severe enough to require hospitalization. I had no prior history of mental illness, and in fact had worked as a psychiatric social worker in the past.
