Post radical prostatectomy
Well it's Saturday and on Wednesday I had robotic surgery to remove my prostate at a terrific place in NYC. So far the pain and discomfort is worse than I expected and I admit to being grateful for opiate pain killers. Now it's a rough 6 days, ahead before the catheter comes out and then the next phase

post-prostatectomy incontinence and ED
I had a radical
prostatectomy
in April 2016 performed by Dr. Jean Joseph at Univ. Of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. I was very fortunate that this very skilled and expert surgeon was able to spare my nerves so I am not impotent but still have some degree of ED.

Bob's Story: Straight Talk about Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Post-Prostatectomy
I developed ED Post-
Prostatectomy
in February 2004. I was 65 and never had a prior history of ED. I studied the literature and attended ED Seminars for several years and finally, in November 2007, got to speak with two men who had the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure done.

Radical ED issues post radical prostatectomy
Since my radical
prostatectomy
in June 2014 I have had very challenging ED issues and would greatly appreciate any help or information to help ease the anxiety isolation and lack of confidence that I am experiencing. So far my surgeon and friends have said my only recourse is a penile implant.

Salvage radiation worries
Thirteen months ago I had a radical
prostatectomy
. Current psa was negligible three months after the operation and is now .218. My doctor is considering salvage radiation. Has anyone had experience with Sloan Kettering or Mayo in Rochester with salvage radiation?

New to the group
In March 2014 I had radical
prostatectomy
. The post operative PSA of .5 lead to IMRT radiation treatment between August and October of 2014. Post radiation PSA never got lower than .2. I have been following the progression of the PCa ever since.

Back in 1995, Partin at Johns Hopkins reported [5] that FAS "predicted pathologic stage well when analyzing primary prostate cancer in radical
prostatectomy
specimens" & "is one of the few markers that provides additional predictive information beyond that of the Gleason score". [6] (2017 - Russia)

Sometimes the medicine works
I met someone this weekend who told me about a friend of his who had a radical
prostatectomy
in 1990. It didn't do the job and he soon had radiation. That didn't do the job either and he was given Lupron.

Had
prostatectomy
in March 2014 and follow-up radiation during June 2015. Over last year, PSA has climbed from 2.12 in September 2016 to 16.8 in October 2017. Currently, considering either hormone + chemo or hormone p + zytiga. Any thoughts?

Early chemotherapy vs waiting.
He had
Prostatectomy
on February 2011 and Radiation after a rising psa of 0.5 2014 His PSA on Sep was 8.7 and thank God it is down to 0.1 The million dollar question is... will it be a good time to start chemotherapy now or to wait?

GOOD NEWS - NEW TREATMENT APPROACH
But she also wants me to have either radiation to the prostate, a
prostatectomy
or both. The theory being that perhaps they can significantly slow the growth of the cancer or kill it.
