"Roaming" mild pain and stiffness, unilateral, but in GCA/PMR areas, when on a low dose of Prednisone
I honestly can't say that I'm back to where I was when I first started
Prednisone
and felt on top of the world, but I can deal with life as it is now and am independent. What do you think?

what should I expect to possibly happen
I plan on bringing extra
prednisone
but I hate the thought that I may have to go back up once again. I can’t belive they can’t make an exception since I am going away. Fingers crossed.

Baker’s Cyst, Medial Meniscus tears
Was put on 40 mg of
Prednisone
daily to start because of the GP’s worry it could be GCA. I’m currently on 4.25 mg and starting to slowly reduce to 4 mg. The summer of 2022, I noticed that I had a lump behind my knee. I showed it to a GP and they sent me for x-rays and an ultrasound.

Sudden anxiety attacks and mood swing on first Prednisone taper
Hi there I’m 44 and was put on
Prednisone
, 20mg, 3.5 weeks ago for suspected PMR. My mum also had PMR at a young age of 42. I’m still waiting for my rheumatology appointment, but meanwhile the GP prescribed steroids that are working well, where all other pain medication was not.

Addison's disease
I tapered of the
prednisone
. I became very fatigued. Could hardly do anything in the morning and then limited things in the afternoon. then I thought of my low cortisol level (due to the abi) a couple years ago. My doc said to up the pred to 10mg/day. that did the trick.

Now on the LVV journey too
Anyway, back to 60mg
prednisone
and consultant is applying for tocilizumab as long as new bloods and chest x-ray are okay. I initially felt quite panicky with the results but I’ve had a good chat with myself.

First three weeks on Prednisolone !
It has been a slow start on
prednisone
for PMR, after three weeks there is improvement apart from right shoulder still painful, doctor thinks that could be something else, that could do with some physio . I am still feeling anxious taking the medication.

Help for my Dad
The
prednisone
is controlling the seizures. My Dad still has confusion, is muddled and his memory is effected. More recently his ability to walk is effected. Is it likely that the symptoms he now shows are
prednisone
side effects, symptoms from the Encephalitis or may be a mixture of both?

Coming Off Calquence (
We tried
prednisone
for 3 years but every time they took me off my hemoglobin would drop and eventually it was determined I needed treatment. As of now my numbers are looking really good and I'm considering going off of it. I feel like it's keeping me fatigued and impacting my memory.

Glaucoma and steroids
So I believe I have steroid glaucoma due to his failure in not only checking my medication list that included
prednisone
but failure to monitor my treatment properly. Added to this a fear that my optic nerve has been damaged.

Change in thyroid tests as I taper Prednisone
I am 3.5 years into PMR. Honestly can't remember what my Levothyroxine dose was before I was diagnosed however throughout my battle with PMR I was taking 100mcg. and GP added 5mcg Liothyronine in 2020 as I apparently wasn't converting my T4. I had finally tapered to 5mg of Pred in March 2023 and my

After taking my first 20mg of
prednisone
the day before, that my GP prescribed I woke up on the day and thought a miracle had happened. I could actually get out of bed and walk all though a little stiff I had the most wonderful day at Chelsea flower show.

New to PMR
I will try tapering down the
prednisone
again in a bit, but I am terrified of developing GCA. I would frankly rather deal with the side effects of
prednisone
than risk going blind from GCA.

ITP secondary to CLL TX hi-dx dexamethasome Response
This study: 'High-dose dexamethasone vs
prednisone
for treatment of adult immune thrombocytopenia: a prospective multicenter randomized trial 2016' talks about response rates to this protocol. Has anyone had similar results to mine after the first round of dosing?
