I was taking
pramipexole
but thankfully got off that after it augmented. Now on gabapentin. Last year my osteopath sent me for xrays and following that I had an operation to fuse two of my vertebrae at the base of the spine.

I’ve had permanent AF for three years, now 78 and am on Apixaban and low dose bisoprolol as well as thyroxine and
pramipexole
for RLS . After recent blood tests Surgery decided I should be on Statins. Atorvastatin now perscibed but not started.

Pramipexole
could take 3-4 hours to kick in. Because of the severe depression I had withdrawing this time( I’ve taken it 3 different times for a total of 15 years)I won’t be taking it again. My dopamine receptors are clearly recovered and we can’t risk another episode like that.

Living Hell
He told me to stop the 5mg Ropinirole and replace it with 2 x
Pramipexole
– 0.088mg. I am now on my tenth day without sleep and the RLS has been 24/7. I don’t have the right words to explain how horrendous this has been.

After getting rid of
pramipexole
using kratom, I continued on kratom as it turned out to be quite effective keeping the jittering down. I don't know if it is the cold weather or tolerance to kratom, but RLS is rearing it's ugly head again.

Unfortunately, King's College RLS Clinic continues to prescribe Rotigitone, even when patients have suffered severe augmentation on Ropinirole or
Pramipexole
. Two down, many more to go. But, slowly, the word is getting out there.

Making a new start.
The story so far: initially, like many of you I took
Pramipexole
, which allowed me to sleep, although there were side-effects. After getting the real story about
Pramipexole
I weaned myself off. Next I tried Gabapentin, for which I had high hopes.

looking for advice for RLS
I did see a neurologist and he gave me
pramipexole
but I didn’t like the way it made me feel and also didn’t help that much but I only took it a twice. I was also quitting Kratom while I was taking
pramipexole
so that could have been why it didn’t work?

I was on 6 x .088mg of
Pramipexole
which I have gradually come off of completely since September 2023. I took my last 1/2 of.088mg on Sunday. I am up every night from about 11pm walking around and trying to take my mind off of the discomfort.

Update on first visit with Neurologist
She totally supports me coming off
pramipexole
and wants me to start with Gabapentin at a much higher dose than before. Then she brought up using opioids as she recognised the severity of my RLS. So have also got a prescription for Buprenorphine/naloxone. I am to keep taking the iron supplement.

Augmentation and Pramipexole
I am not sure if I feel so bad because I am reducing my
pramipexole
or because of my new drug Oxycodone. I was on 225 tablets a month of 30mg tablets of codeine phosphate and 0.52mg
pramipexole
a day.

Side Effects - Ropinirole & Pramipexole
I have thus switched to
Pramipexole
and I am currently 3 days into GLEPARK generic version, it is giving me the very same nausea. Has anyone got any similar experiences or suggestions ?

I’m in the process of getting my doctor to prescribe for me during my transition off
Pramipexole
. Also wonder if people predisposed to OUD have low dopamine and that’s why so many have RLS? Wipper B, Cooke MP, Winkelman JW.

The story so far ……..
Way back I started on
Pramipexole
which worked brilliantly apart from the side affects. Joining this forum I discovered the dark side of
Pramipexole
and came off the drug.

I started with .25mg
pramipexole
(Sifrol) now taking .75mg and olmesartan/amlodipine for high blood pressure. I have had rls before this but only occasionally. He has now suggested an iron tablet Maltofer which I am starting today. I have a history of low iron, borderline anaemic at times.
