Hydroxyurea or Busulfan
Hello MPN community I was diagnosed with PV in 2020. I am JAK2+ and am currently being treated with Phlebotomies as needed and baby aspirin . I am thinking about going on low dose Busulfan 2mg per day or 500mg Hydroxyurea.I would appreciate any input on side effects . Does it help fatigue or add to it

Rechecking JAK2 V617F Allele Burden
Hi all, I have an appt with my heme on Feb 4 where he will test my allele burden - 1 yr since my PV diagnosis. Been on a daily double dose of a baby aspirin, weekly pegasys 45mcg, and phlebotomies as necessary ever since. I’ll report back on the results. Curious if others have stories/data to share on

Update 4.0
I would like to give it a try to see if it will work better than the
phlebotomy
-only approach. Likewise approval for Besremi. I imagine at some point I will opt for that as well. Of coarse, in the near-term, approval for the COVID vaccines would be really great.

TSH testing only for Graves?
And then i will have to wait for another
phlebotomy
appointment etc.... I guess it will be at least another 10 days from now that i will have the T4 results, even if everything runs smoothly. Its really frustrating because after all these years, i know when i am getting sick.

Therapeutic phlebotomy
Hi, I got a call today from my transplant team because my hematocrit was high, they want to do a therapeutic
phlebotomy
next week, they said it’s like giving blood meaning my body is making to much blood and they need to remove some. Anyone ever had this done, I’m 2 years post transplant.

Update on Husband
Hi all - We got the results back last week from my husband's JAK2 test. It was negative. Since then he has had 5 phlebotomies (one each week) and his Hemoglobin has come down from 21 to 14.5. No enlarged spleen. Platelets, WBC, and EPO are all normal. My husband feels 10 years younger. No more headaches

Surgery upcoming.
This is Ellen, USA, PVjak2+, age 74, on hydroxyurea, aspirin, and periodic
phlebotomy
. Was hospitalized two weeks ago with acute pancreatitis. Long story short, I will have my gallbladder removed on Friday. Spoke at length with my hemotologist and have no real concerns.

Another life change
My dad needed me, and I wanted to return to work part time( to have time for him) I was educated and got a
phlebotomy
job that I LOVE. After 3 years of suffering, I was referred to an incredible surgeon across the state. This man is the chair of Neurosurgury.

My first phlebotomy PV JAK2 +
Does anyone know how long it takes to recover white blood cells after the
phlebotomy
? It’s the single one value that’s perfectly in range for me and lord knows we need to keep our immunity up during these times!
