Myocardial Perfusion Test.
Has any of you had a
Perfusion
test done. I did on Monday. It was a terrible experience. I had terrible chest pains during and after the test. Than a nose bleed. Than went into the scanner. And the scan turned out no good.

Do I or Don't I - more than a little confused now
Having been told I was in Heart Failure and taking a pile of pills the original plan last October was to have a Micro
Perfusion
Scan with the end result being Rotablation if necessary but am still waiting for either.

Cardiologist with imagination in or near West Midlands?
Discharged by NHS after myocardial
perfusion
scan results were ‘entirely normal’, I had three angina-like attacks the following week. GP cannot re-refer, but will write for advice if pain responds to GTN spray, but I’ve not been able to test that yet.

She then asked about oedema and I told her I had already had a
perfusion
scan and no heart problems were detected. She finally settled on my weight and the need to reduce. I pointed out that I had found it impossible to lose weight and keep it off.

Just plain scared now.
The doctor at the clinic clearly thought I had reflux, but gave me a GTN spray and referred me for myocardial
perfusion
scan. Frankly, I’m scared. I’ve had two more episodes in the last three weeks, both in the middle of night, both of which have left me feeling exhausted.

Stress MRI v Stress MPS
In a letter from Cardiology it says " from the MPS it reveals there is a total
Perfusion
Defect affecting 16% of the Myocardium 4 % is reversible and 12% is fixed.

myocardial perfusion stress test and PD
I'm scheduled to have a nuclear stress test at the end of the week. Among other things it involves an injection of a tiny dose of radioactive thallium and seeing how the heart muscle reacts. Are there any of you who have had this test and did it have an effect on your pd? Thanks, Jon

A Couple of Tips...
Supplemental oxygen abolishes this constriction, leading to poor ventilation/
perfusion
matching. This redistribution of blood to areas of the lung with poor ventilation reduces the amount of carbon dioxide eliminated from the system.

Myocardial Profusion Scan
There is a total

AF and dementia issues
'Patients with AF have been found to have reduced cerebral
perfusion
'. 'Hypoperfusion' stood out for me. It is an inadequate supply of oxygen and nutrients (to the brain). When I'm in AF, I'm often short of breath, and also feel like I can't think or concentrate.

Slow AF
I recently had a
perfusion
scan which involved an ECG. The technician who looked at the results said I was not in AF but the consultant said AF was present but was 'slow'. I've not heard of this before. Does any one have experience of slow AF?

I've now received an appointment for Monday 21st Aug to get 2 tests called NM lung ventilation spect and NM lung
perfusion
spect, I've no idea what this is for or what they will do but for some reason I'm terrified I can't stop crying. The only clue the letter gives is nuclear medicin .

Myocardial perfusion scan results
Hi everyone, I hope someone can shed some light on my results from a myocardial
perfusion
scan. I had drug induced stress test first and then a rest test. The results say 'shows a small reversible defect in the apical segment of the antero-septal wall.

Myocardial perfusion scans
In case anyone else has had this suggested to them, here's my experience this week. Basically, it's a radionuclid scan of the heart to see if there are any problems with coronary vessel narrowing etc. First, you get ECG monitored under stress. Apparently this used to be done with a treadmill, but now

Predisolone diary 6: struggling to stick to 4mg
Last week, I had a myocardial
perfusion
scan, which seems to have set me further back. Since having it, my chest feels tighter and my breathing is more laboured. Coincidence? My joints are feeling more achy too, so I fear that this may all suggest that I need to increase my steroids again....

Feeling a little guilty!
I have had COPD tests and am clear, and have just had a myocardial
perfusion
stress test, which was not pleasant, and also the same test without stressing the heart. I am at present awaiting the results.
