Asthma and living with it
I woke up one night when I was 14 and couldn't breathe. Over the years I was in and out of hospital, on various inhalers and steroids when needed. I managed to get by, have three children, then in 1991 after the birth of my last child I had really bad attack. I was put on steroids to get me back to

Just need a rant really - I am currently really struggling as my asthma (allergy/hayfever triggered) has come back after stopping breastfeeding my third little monkey. I have gone from normal running around with no symptoms, minimal meds and a peak flow of 400 to spending 3 weeks with a peak flow of

First hospital admission - worried
Hi Everyone I've been asthmatic for over 18 years (I'm now approaching 40!) Between December 2013 and August 2014 I needed four courses of Pred and antibiotics. But from August 2014 I've had good consultant care and an excellent home action plan. Usual medications are; Seretide 250 2 puffs twice

How long does it take to recover after a bad attack?
Hi Had an asthma attack I think without realising the severity of symptoms it had been going on for a few days. Yesterday I wound up in hospital my sats were 88 and i couldn't talk a sentence. Anyway after a few hours of treatment I was sent home. I can get my breath now which is good. I'm just exhausted

Severe attack-anyone taking Zileuton Extended Release?
Hi everyone, I haven't been on in quite a long time. I've had a lot happen since I was last here. I lost two jobs, both related to my health. The first was a hospital job, and I was walking around about 5 hours a day, and on oral prednisone for about 14 months because of a severe asthma attack, and

Was wondering. Now I've stopped smoking do I really need to continue taking my pumps for COPD?
I use atrovent and seretide pumps. I'm moderate COPD with lung age of 76 years. Not sure where asthma ends and COPD starts to be honest but My asthma/COPD is present everyday but not as bad as when I smoked. I can live with it without pumps. Do I need to take my pumps still?

only recently diagnosed with COPD and the doctor first gave me Spiriva but had to stop as too drying and with a terrible cough so she then
prescribed Atrovent inhaler CFC free 20 micro. after a couple of weeks finding the side effects bad especially swollen ankles are much worse, nosebleeds, palpitations, dry mouth etc. Has anyone had this problem and is there another inhaler with less side effects.
