Speaking tracheostomy

Low-active COMT genotype and stimulant therapy
I have ADHD that I've been treated for off and on throughout my life. Recently, I sought psychostimulant treatment as I was having trouble being interested in projects at work that were necessary and prolonged. We started off with Adderall IR 10mg. In the past, I have tolerated Ritilan and Adderall

Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian lifestyle (higher risk).
(Excerpt from the book I am writing now. I hope you find it useful). Is Parkinson's disease a lifestyle disease? 1. Parkinsonian style (increased risk of developing the disease) I have less and less doubts about the existence of a "Parkinsonian" way of life, which predisposes and increases the risk

Existing heart failure drug may treat potential COVID-19 long-hauler symptom.
In a new study out of University of California San Diego School of Medicine, researchers found a drug used for heart failure improves symptoms associated with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, otherwise known as POTS. This complex, debilitating disorder affects the body’s autonomic nervous system

Vitamin C in the world of Parkinson´s
Norepinephrine (
noradrenaline
) needs ascorbate (vitamin C) to be synthesized from dopamine. The body requires vitamin C, magnesium and some B vitamins for the conversion of tryptophan into serotonin (tryptophan is also a precursor of the famous melatonin). 6.

Failing test
I was seen by a neuropsychologist two days ago. for a mental examination. He warned me it would be a difficult test. He didn't mention it would take over 3 hours. At first I felt I was doing well but as the hours passed I sorta crumbled under the pressure. Maybe low blood sugar from skipping

SSRIs versus SNRIs for Depression and Anxiety
Has anyone had any success with SNRIs for their depression and anxiety? I don't understand how blocking norepinephrine would help at all. I had a report that says that I have short serotonin receptor genes and my psychiatrist wants me to try Pristiq which works 10-to-1 on serotonin versus norepinephrine

Results : Organic Acid Test (OAT) from Great Plains Laboratory.
I wanted to share the details of the results for my mother, based on Urine test . Hopefully, this will help a few on this forum. I am only indicating the High/Low items in the report. The remaining ( of the total of 77 items) were within the Ref. Range. See attached sample report from their website

catecholamines
catecholamines https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4665535/ Recently, postsynaptic sympathetic norepinephrine nerve terminals were found to be degenerated as well as mesencephalic dopaminergic neurons. Cardiac norepinephrine denervation can be seen by meta-iodine-benzyl guanidine scintigraphy

Anxiety pain in back of head
I have been on SSRI for 8 weeks and worked great. Then one day I had an attack and it hasn’t subsided in 10 days. In fact each day is worse with vibrations in my whole body but especially the back of my neck up into my head. I don’t know if it is so extreme that it norepinephrine just keeps sending

Can Oligomeric Proanthocyanadins (OPC's) be of any benefit for ADHD??
Short answer: Yes Oligomeric Proanthocyanadins (OPC's for short) are polyphenols which help give fruit, vegetables, and plants their dark, rich color. These micronutrients contain very strong antioxidants and phytochemicals that assist plants with disease preventive properties. Someone messaged me

My "PD" is modulated by three factors. Dysautonomia is one.
My "PD" is modulated by: Norepinehrine loss in CNS. Amantadine helps. Dysautonomia (ANS pathologies). Eg, elevated norepinephrine in periphery. Midface hypoplasia (eg, severe malocclusion, high arched palate). Also, I've come to believe: distorted development of my insular cortices and interconnected

OCD is just another Addiction.
During the battle against OCD, working to connect the dots and through own experiences to understand what is it that we confront with and how to overcome it, I realized something about OCD, that I would like to share. If my opinion is seen fit and useful, it may help understand in a certain angle what

Geoffrey Burnstock [age 91] obituary | Shifted ATP paradigm - gut nerves | Neuroscience | The Guardian
Undeterred, Burnstock went further and showed that cells in other parts of the autonomic nervous system released both the classical neurotransmitter
noradrenaline
and ATP, in breach of Eccles’s and Dale’s dictum. Not until the early 1990s did evidence emerge that finally convinced the doubters.

2 months in; still fighting but her doctors want to stop treatment
I hope everyone has been doing okay these last couple of weeks. In my last post, I described how my mom’s blood pressure was low and her doctors wanted to stop dialysis. It was later revealed to us that her blood pressure was low due to septicemia related to bacterial pneumonia and that her doctors had

High norepinephrine
I need advice on this. Ive has alot of blood testing done lately and want to know if anyone has had elevated norepinephrine levels. Doc says could be causing my high blood pressure. I dont take much anxiety meds anymore aside from lorazepam sometimes.

Medicine/Supplement Regime (Mucuna etc)
I just thought I'd share my dad's current medicine regime in case it will help other people. After so many months of trial and error, we have finally found a dose that works for my dad. He takes it every 2 hours and 45 minutes with little freezing, has less dyskinesias, not much pain, a better appetite
