Starting Salsalate for PSP
If some people get positive feedbak with the
nilotinib
, I guesswe would start that also after we finish the try with Salsalate; So obviously we are very keen to get info from anyone trying one or the other.

Was PD cured in the 1980's? It's a GM1 Ganglioside deficiency?
Moreover, this natural compound may be the underlying reason
nilotinib
works. The tyrosine kinase inhibitors like
nilotinib
induce GM1 (see 2006 article http://www.jimmunol.org/content/176/2/864.long ).

Novartis' nilotinib (AMN107, trade name Tasigna)
"The use of
nilotinib
(AMN107, trade name Tasigna), in doses much smaller than are used to treat cancer, which is up to 800 milligrams daily, was well tolerated with no serious side effects," Pagan explains. For the trial the doses were kept between 150 and 300 milligrams daily, he added.

New hope for PD
Has anyone read about a new study that found a leukemia drug,
nilotinib
, looks very promising for Parkinson's and related diseases. It was a small study, but 10 out of 12 patients had quite dramatic reversal of symptoms.

Are you EGFR+?
We are looking for feedback on how you have coped with treatment and how it has impacted on your daily life. NICE decision on access to Gefitinib(Iressa) and Erlotinib (Tarceva).
We are pleased to see NICE's announcement today on second line treatment for non small cell lung cancer using Gefitinib (Iressa) and Erlotinib (Tarceva). Second line treatment is when someone needs further treatment after chemotherapy because their cancer has progressed. The earlier Appraisal Committee

Science News new finding!!
They discovered two candidates --
nilotinib
and bosutinib, which is also approved to treat CML. This study discusses experiments with
nilotinib
, but Moussa says that use of bosutinib is also beneficial.

Erlotinib/Tarceva approved for use as first line treatment in Scotland
A very positive announcement today that some lung cancer patients in Scotland will be able to access a targeted therapy which can stop the cancer spreading in certain cases. The Scottish Medical Consortium has accepted the drug erlotinib, which is also known as Tarceva, for the first-line treatment
