Update on My Neupro Withdrawal
After all of the positive comments I wrote yesterday in my previous post things took a turn for the worse. Last night, the 5th without the Neupro patch was pretty awful. Every time I fell asleep, a pain would attack both thighs waking me and sending me walking until the attack subsided. The episodes

Another Withdrawing from Dopamine Agonist Question
Hello Everyone, It may seem over the top, but every time I post here, I feel the need to verbally genuflect to show my respect and thanks to those who are the foundation of this site. Thank you. First, the good news for me is that I have not put a Neupro patch on in 5 days! My second attempt to put

Last step of Neupro withdrawal
Hi Everyone, First, I would like to say again how deeply grateful I am to this community. In the 50 years of suffering through RLS, never, never have I gotten more valuable information and support. If I had only found you earlier. I saw my neurologist here in Brasil yesterday. He is a doctor who I

Advice on using Kratom
I have found kratom here in São Paulo. I wonder if any one can give some pointers on how to use. Tea? I am about to cut my 1 mg Neupro Patch in half and I am hoping the kratom might help me get by any rough spots. Thanks so much. R

Trying to determine the right pace for tapering use of Neupro
I have started my second attempt at withdrawing for a dopamine agonist. This time Neupro. The first attempt was Mirapex. SueJohnson suggested I switch to different medication, but an appointment with my neurologist here in Brasil is not so easy to get so I would like to continue to decrease my intake

Oxycodone - the way forward or a dead end?
I have only posted here briefly once but I have been following this great forum for some time. My story is very familiar. Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin

restless legs in Turkey
hello again everyone. As some of you may know I’ve been traveling through Europe and South America. It’s been challenging because of my restless legs but I decided to do it now because at 57 these legs won’t be getting any better. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using the healthcare

Iron levels checked
Had an iron panel completed. 2 important numbers. Ferritin 102, saturation 29 percent. Now what. Dr says both normal. Every test I take, everything comes back normal so why have I had RLS since childhood and at 76 getting 2-3 hours sleep because I have to walk the floors all night and getting worse and

Neupro Patch Weaning
I’ve read most of the forum’s input regarding Neupro Patches and relayed the information to the physician. He has decided to optimize the Gabapentin dose and discontinue the patch. A bit of history…….. the patch was started 12/19/23…10 days ago. Prior to that, ropinirole was weaning off (dose on

Uncontrolled RLS
I’d like to report the observations of a friend with RLS whose disorder worsened to the point of not being able to ride in a car without extreme discomfort. The thought of a car ride produced anxiety. Standing or moving relieved the symptoms. In the evening and at night, the RLS worsened. When attempting

ropinirole for PD and melanoma risk
My Neuro suggested replacing neupro with ropinirole to help reduce dyskinesia. But reading about ropinirole side effects concerned me. Especially the warning about increased melanoma risk. I understand that most anti PD meds have at least 2x increased risk of melanoma, but I could not find any research

Been taking neupro patches up to 8mg for 8 weeks now and from day one had significant issues with sleep. I normally would fall asleep and wake up 4 to 6 hours later. Now it's often just an hour later and im fully awake. Anyone else got this from their meds? Anyone else had an success in beating this?

Rotigotine/Neupro patches causing deep drowsiness after food
I've recently been ramping up to my current 8mg of neupro. However now I'm noticing that an hour after any significant food I get a deep sleepiness to the point I'm almost asleep on the spot. Any one else get this? Is this just temporary? Think it's all food but maybe others found its certain things?

Questions about Neupro
Hello, Is it fine to taper off Neupro (rotigotine) patches by cutting out pieces? And what is the equivalent dose of Mirapexin extended release to a patch of Neupro 2mg ? Thanks!

Seeking input: taking Gabapentin 600mg nightly, RLS symptoms persist
I was on Neupro for several years and tapered off about 5 months ago. Since then I’ve just been on Gabapentin 300mg x 2 nightly. My RLS symptoms persist though they haven’t been worse than they were when I was experiencing augmentation from Neupro. I’m curious if others here have found help from

Levodopa just for exercise?
Here's a question for you. Is anyone on or know of anyone that's on levodopa just for exercise and not on it the rest of the time? I'm on neupro which has helped live a regular daily life but still very dystonic and stiff for full on exercise and wondering if I could get a temporary boost to get through

Suffering like hell since I tried to taper off a dopamin agonist
Hi all, From Feb to Aug, I succesfully tapered off Venlafaxine extended release that I had taken for 28 years. I had started taking this medicine when I was 20 after what was probably a post-traumatic stress episode diagnosed as 'fibromyalgia' by my doctors back at that time. I tried several times to

Parkinson's wife
My husband was diagnosed about 4 years ago though I suspect Parkinsons was developing long before that. Main problem - neither Sinemet or Madopar has any effect on bradykinesia or tremor (let alone the non motor symptoms)and increasing medication e.g. Neupro patch = rotigotine dopamine agonist only
