Life has returned to me part 2
I was asked to be more full in my reporting on mannitol and B1 so here goes. I was dx 4 years ago aged 53, the symptom that took me to docs was stiff hand and losing ability to write. I have always had a difficult shoulder so had assumed thats why hand not responding. My thyroid has gone wrong some

The nature of pain in Parkinson’s
Madopar
blunts it somewhat but certainly doesn’t remove it. I’m aware that all pain is in ones head of course, but usually we do something to a limb then it sends signals to the brain.

Had to start
Madopar
22 months ago but getting the dose right has been real trial and error.Started off on 100/25 three times a day which was fine for about 5 months. Then the dyskinesias / dystopia started and was getting a lot of off time.

Life has returned to me.
Sorry I have been absent but as you all notice we tend to not post so much when it all good. I will try to be to the point😆. I have taken azilect since diagnosis 4 years ago today and added mannitol fairly soon. Mannitol i credit with giving me back my desire to beat this. My apathy was dispelled

I need help in finding a neurologist in Sydney open to talking about Mucuna Prurience and green tea
I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago and up to now have not really taken
Madopar
for PD. The neurologist did put me on 3 by 250mg of
madopar
at night for my restless legs. Whether that dampened my PD symptoms during the day or not I do not know.

STATISTICS
THIS FORUM IS VERY interesting and the alternative treatments (other than modopar or sinemet) give us a little hope . Would it be possile to sort out the different experience s and calculate the percentage of success of a product . Personally I am eager to know wether Vitami B1 "works" or not . but

Monitoring devices
My symptoms seem unrelated to
Madopar
dose and timing in that in the evening after several hours without medication I can be steady and other times after medication my tremor is apparent. It would be useful to see this more accurately.

Have I been expecting too much? Comments and opinions welcome ....
[/u] Diagnosed 18 months ago (Feb'18) Taking 3 x 187.5mg
Madopar
or Sinemet Never felt anything in the way of "on-off' periods causing me to question the effectiveness of the drugs in my case.

Madopar VS Sinemet
My question is: Is
madopar
really better than Sinemet and what are its benefits/side effects?

Stutter as a PD symptom
Now and since 4 months I am on half a
Madopar
tablet 250mg for 3 x per day and I feel much better. Only occasional mild tremors, my dexterity has much improved and my gait is almost normal. Still suffering from frequent foot cramps, usually in the evenings.

Shall I buy a car? AKA how long have I got doc?
Officially dx a year later 1/16 and started on 1mg pd of Rasagiline Then 15 months later (5/17) started on
Madopar
at 100/25 three times a day. 6 months later added B1 not because it made any noticeable difference but in the hope it might slow progression. No change to medication since.

Still not convinced it’s PD
Given that I’ve been doubting the effectiveness of
Madopar
for my particular case, I’m a bit concerned it might be MSA instead! Does anyone know how long it takes to get
Madopar
completely out of your system once you come off it? I’ve been on the med for 18months now.

Looking for a less conservative strategy
