Anyone with SSC and breast cancer?
Im having a
lumpectomy
and intensive radiotherapy next week- possibly chemo aswell if there are any cells found in my lymph nodes. I know SSC has an increased cancer risk- with breast cancer the most common. Has anyone on here gone through this? How did it affect your Scleroderma ?

Primary vs. Mets and Surgery
They will do scans every three months to make sure there is no progression, but she either may never have surgery, or they may just do a large
lumpectomy
. How does everyone feel about this? What is the standard of care these days?

Sleep - I miss it so much!
Happy Easter- hope everyone is coping with this prolonged isolation- I feel pretty low at present even though I know I should be very grateful that my breast cancer was caught early and that after a
lumpectomy
with clear margins in October I didn’t need chemotherapy.

Seeking wisdom from those of you that have "been there done that"
As I am anticipating surgery, I'm not sure if I should go for a
lumpectomy
(the tumor has shrunk from 7.5cm to 3.5cm so far!) unilateral or bilateral mastectomy? I don't have any lymph node involvement and the PET scan showed no other cancer anywhere in my body.

Post lumpectomy and radiation breast infection
Has anybody developed inflammation and tenderness emanating from their
lumpectomy
scar? I finished radiation treatment 4 months ago and wasn’t expecting it.

Update on my sister
Last time she had BC she had a
lumpectomy
, radiotherapy and 5 years taking tamoxifen. She is having a mastectomy this time because the cancer is in the same breast, but they have suggested she has reconstructive surgery . Thanks in advance.:)

Has anyone everyone gone through Oncoplastic surgery?
I was given 3 options: 1)
lumpectomy
2) oncoplastic surgery 3) mastectomy. I would prefer not having implants for any type of reconstruction, and told that with oncoplastic surgery that would not be necessary. I'm now at the stage of surgery and just need to make a decision.

Sister with Breast cancer
She was first diagnosed about 15 1/2 years ago and had a
lumpectomy
and radiotherapy, there was no spread to any lymph nodes at the time. The recurrence is in the same breast but was picked up as micro calcifications on a routine mammogram. She has had a biopsy which confirms cancer.

Coughing up blood a year post lumpectomy.
Hello. Has anyone had lung infections and coughing up blood a year and a bit post lung surgery? My sister has these symptoms now and worried the cancers back.

After a
lumpectomy
, lymph nodes removal, chemo and three months following radiation, my dearest friend of over 40 yrs began experiencing increasing arm pain. From research and suggestions here for pain relief, I printed out info. which prompted a visit to her pcp.

Blood thinners
I'm still on aspirin and clopidogrel every day, I have now been diagnosed with breast cancer needing a
lumpectomy
! The op cant be done until I'm off the clopidogrel. Question is, how long have people been on blood thinners before they can stop taking it?

Are There Any SAFE Aromatase Inhibitors
I was diagnosed with stage 2A lobular carcinoma in my left breast in October 2019 and had a
lumpectomy
. No lymph nodes were involved. I have heard so many harmful side effects, I don't know if I will follow through with estrogen inhibitors. I have also heard about the TAILORX study.
