Dulcigirl...hello. I had lumpectomy on both breasts a year apart. I had radiation & intense radiation 2nd breast. I had no nerve pain until oncologist prescribed medication that caused nerve pain& joint pain. I tried 4 different meds & ended up on 1st which caused less side effects which caused carpo tunnel symptoms. I’m on Anestrozole for 3 more years at least which makes my nerve problems. I can barely use my fingers. I feel like I need the prevention so I will continue. If you’re on aromasins there will probably be some side effect. My prayers are with you on this journey.

Hi - I just have one odd stabbing twinge - only painful for a second and only every now and again- in my neck. It started during radiotherapy and now I am a few months down the line. Yes I have the anastrazole problems too but think everyone does- it’s bearable at the moment and I can still play the piano but some very sore finger joints

Hello, while nerve pain is more common with mastectomy it can happen with lumpectomy. Nerves are still being cut, these pains usually go away over time. Be sure to speak with your surgeon about the pains you are getting.

I'm 2 1/2 years post surgery and radiation. I've been on Tamoxifen for 2 years, now. I have more pain now than I ever did with the surgery and radiation. My oncologist sent me back to my surgeon & when I described to her that I was having sharp stabbing pains & that it hurt for my clothes to touch me, she said that it was nerve pain & sent me to a doctor that deals with that. I had a nerve block a month ago, which helped a little bit and am about to have a second block next week. I didn't know if other women had this kind of problem.
