A New - Old Drug That Is Making a Major Difference for Me
I have long been convinced that there are nuggets of gold buried in the massive accumulation of 40 years of research that has built up since Ldopa took the stage. Common sense tells me that it is not possible for such a huge amount of data spread over several disciplines to build up without overlooking

Interesting response to my PD symptoms
I started
levodopa
shortly after she came to me. As always, adjusting the medications was a challenge. I began to notice that Lily would "bite" me when it got close to the time for my next dose. She also would "bite" when I was feeling really tired.

The fierce urgency of now
Levodopa
changed that.
Levodopa
gave people who had no future cause for rejoicing. And we were grateful. Really grateful. But that was 40 years ago. It's hard to believe that in four decades of drug development, we have nothing to offer better than
levodopa
.

Bach's Rescue Remedy spray seems to help
I have been experiencing anxiety then depression as my
levodopa
wears off. Sometimes this is much more disconcerting than the physical symptoms. Occasionally I don't seem to recover the rest of the day.

Drugs not toxic
Expert practitioners who reported in this database, utilized
levodopa
more than any other drug-- including dopamine agonists, and they used
levodopa
more (not less) as disease durations increased.

CHANGE!
CHANGE! In the past year my Parkinson’s medication, L-dopa, and I have both celebrated our 40th birthdays. In some respects, I suppose that I am lucky that for the last 13 years, I have been able to swallow varying amounts of this drug everyday. It is fantastic. Without it I would not enjoy my life

I am 39 and taking 2 to 4 Madopar tablets a day do you think I will end up with dyskinesia?
I am worried that I will end up with dyskinesia due to my age and how early I am taking
Levodopa
. On Requip XL I was having sleep problems, eating in the night and sewing a lot.

Symptoms Advancing or something else?
The increase in the carbidopa-
levodopa
has given me auditory hallucinations. My tremors have increased and are now on my right side as well. Sometimes my whole body - head to legs shake. I'm just looking for input or something if anyone can.

Low carb diets and PD?
Like Court - see erlier question - I'm fed up reading that PD causes people to lose weight! Mine has steadily gone up since I started on medication and in the last month, since adding an anti depressant, I have just ballooned. None of my clothes fit. In a few months I seem to have gone from slim and

Do you experience "wearing off"?
If you are taking carbidopa/
levodopa
you most likely have experience "wearing off". Have you ever experienced a time when you felt a "wearing off" at an unpredictable time and if so did you panic or suddenly "freeze"? Was there a reason why you felt that "wearing off" feeling? Jupiterjane
