adrenal care using the sun
hi I am trying to tolerate NDT with not a lot of success. Has anyone ever tried using the sun to regular their cortisol? (Ie. Watch sunrise and go to bed at sunset) instead of shovelling a load of ACE, liquorice root etc etc. in? Keen to hear from any one thanks in advance 🙏🏻😊

A bit of encouraging information
This paper in the UK has examined the benefits or otherwise of using DTE (NDT) on patients who did not tolerate T4 only. It's encouraging to find substantial improvements to QoL in some such patients. It is accessible Is there a role for Natural Desiccated Thyroid in the treatment of levothyroxine

NHS Pharmateutical Advice: Avoid NDT products updated Jan 2022
It appears the NHS has now ratcheted up their anti ndt further. Sorry it wouldnt let me copy and paste but link is below. What I find interesting is that it admits the research trials are small and of short duration on ndt. It then goes on to say that the evidence isnt there to prove that ndt is of

Weight loss or weight gain on ndt?
I'm curious if anyone has lost or gained weight on ndt, assuming the dosage is correct, given that ft4 decreases and ft3 increases on ndt (due the rațio in pig thyroid 4:1)

Stabbing back pain
has anyone experienced this! Feels like I pulled something but I recognize the symptoms from upper shoulder pain when on a lower dosage of NDT. Just happened on one side of middle back . I try to keep still so it won’t stab again but then it happens again. I haven’t changed my dosage. Not sure what

Fine TSH but lowish t4?
10 years ago I had slightly elevated TSH (4.3 ref. 0.27 – 4.20 mIU/L) and I started experimenting with iodine, NDT, t3 which never put me into good shape. I had some good periods, especially while trying Tyhroid-S but never good enough. Years ago my without taking anything (before I started experimenting

thyroid meds
I was on levo 25mg for 6 months and then changed to NDT armoury 15mg twice a day. Was only on NDT armour for 7 days and took a very bad reaction. Doctor told me to stop all meds and I’ve been off them for 2 weeks. My TSH was 6.5 on meds and now I’ve come off them it’s went down to 2.3. Not sure why

A bit worried..
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. First, I guess I'll give a mini update - this month marks my fourth(?) month on NDT, and following a blood test I took in mid-July, I've been given a dose increase. I've been feeling pretty good on the NDT; no side-effects, no feeling over-medicated at all

Starting NDT
So I'm to take 1 grain twice a day. I used to take my levo around 6am so intend to take my 1st grain of NDT the same time. Im trying to plan when to take grain 2 and need to know if I can drink anything in the 1 hour either side of taking it? I know you can't have food or coffee but what about

Endo switching me from T3 only to NDT.
Hadn't been feeling great so did blood test and my TSH seem to be superhigh again. results below. I am on T3 only and have autoimmune thyroditis. Endo suggested trying NDT instead of increasing T3 again ( I am on 60mcg of T3 ) Has anyone done this and any advice will be greatly appreciated. Endo suggested

Raising FT3 dilemma
Recent events have made me review my thyroid treatment and I clearly need extra T3 in some form rather than just Levo. I'm pretty long term Hashi's (25yrs+) and have one copy of the DIO2 gene. Some years ago now I tried NDT, which definitely improved my health and wellbeing, but ran into difficulties

Feeling poorly since new batch of NDT (ERFA)
Hi all. I have been feeling unwell since starting a new batch of my NDT (ERFA). I have been taking ERFA from the same pharmacy in Richmond, Surrey, for years, but since starting this batch, I have gotten quite unwell. I started having joint pain and now I feel terrible. Has anyone else experienced

Thyroid and Supplements to help Perimenopause
Hi, I have Hypothyroidism and take Thyroxine and NDT. I have been having symptoms over the last 6-8 months similar to Thyroid which I now believe to be Perimenopause. I started on Collagen which has helped with joint pain and saw a GP last week who suggested Black Cohosh and Red Clover to see how

When I increase T3, my body dumps fT4... what would you do?
Hi - I've been messing around with T4 and T3 combinations for about 18 months now, I think. For a bit of potted history, I'm a horrifically poor converter. On 100 mcg T4 + 2 x 5 mcg T3, I am still tired with brain fog. When I tested, my ft4 was lower than it is on 100 mcg T4 only by 20%. My fT3

Has anyone had T3/NDT make you colder - particularly your feet?
Hi everyone! I've spent the last several years experimenting on myself with various combinations of doses, etc. after being under-medicated by docs for years on 125 mcg straight Synthroid. This led to cold intolerance, low oral body temps, low pulse, etc. For example, looking back at old medical records

combination NDT and levo
I am just wondering how many people are on a combination of NDT and levo? I have added in levo due to low t4. I am on 1 grain armour and 50mg of t4 (tirisont). Does this seem like a really high dose of thyroid meds?

Struggle with organisation and concentration.
I was lucky enough to see Dr Skinner about 15 years ago who prescribed me with armour after I couldn't tolerate thyroxine This was initially life changing but fast forward to now and I still struggle to concentrate and be organised. I am really messy and just want to be able to reach my potential

Euthyrox not so good anymore?
Hello, I have been wondering if the new Euthyrox formulation is not so effective. I used Euthyrox 2018- 2020 and it worked well. Then I tried NDT and T3, but went back to levo because it's hard to get in my country. I used to take 125/150 but now I am still having symptoms on dosage 175mcg. I

For awareness, one of the chemists that provides Thybon Henning alongside NDT etc also offers a prescriber service.
It costs 30 pounds and she discusses recent blood results with you. She can prescribe ALL thyroid meds. I found out about this when I had a real farce trying to get a private GP to prescribe t3 ( Thybon Henning)from them. Hope I'm allowed to post this. It might be helpful for some.
