The uptake results are in... and more confusion
I've received my uptake scan results today, which I was expecting to show a toxic nodule or few. Instead the report states..... There is uptake seen throughout the thyroid gland with relative increased tracer activity on the right when compared to the left, however, no focal nodule is seen. Thyroid

Help!
In the last few years I have put on a lot of weight on my stomach.. but have very slim arms and legs. My waist is now 48 inches. I cannot wear anything that zips up etc around my waist. I am normally a 32 inch waist. I have had my pituitary gland looked at, and it is slightly enlarged, but nothing

Vitamin and mineral supplements? My latest results
Hi all, I've just had my latest Blue Horizon results (see image) which I would welcome comments on, particularly regarding the vitamins and minerals I might need to supplement. All blood tests were done no later than 9.30am, no levo for 24 hours before. I've worked really hard this year on my diet, but

RAI and persisting inflammation research
Not sure if this has already been posted, but will definitely be following this: BTF research award: 'Does persisting thyroid inflammation explain poor quality of life after radioiodine therapy (RAI)?' https://www.btf-thyroid.org/btf-research-award-winner-2023 Just reading the title I thought OMG

Blood Results - and poor treatment/support from NHS - feel lost and unwell
I have been diagnosed severe Graves with high antibodies for about 8 years and suffered a number of relapses where usually end up in A&E. Due to reading a lot on this forum and other websites I have refused RAI treatment due to the often poor outcomes and don’t really want surgery either as read about

Iodine
I know there are discussions about the possibility of worsening Hashimotos but would there be a problem having a very low dose of it whilst on T3 and T4 meds if careful?

On Lithium, have hypothyroidism,no longer responding to T4 and less to T3. Starting low iodine diet.
I have just started a low Iodine diet as set out by a recent book advocating this to reset the thyroid for Hypothyroidism patients. I have been on Lithium by Bipolar for 15 years. 7 years ago I developed Hypothyroidism. Initially I partially responded to T4 but after 3-4 years I completely slowed down

Ramblings of an old Parky , Vitamins and finding a professional methodology
I have read so much information on this theme that I should know the subject, but I do not , and the more I read the more I appreciate those professionals that study and research it . My general understanding is that in the past a diet resulting from a complete lack of a particular vitamin would cause

Advice urgently needed: Endo reducing levo dose yet again based on flawed blood results.
Hello everyone I had thyroidectomy 1992 and since then been on levothyroxine. Roughly, 6 weeks ago levo dose was reduced by GP from 75/50mcg alternate days, to 50mcg daily due to T4 being over range. A very toxic iodine based medication I'm prescribed to treat afib, namely Amiodarone, is pushed T4 over

Iodine Uptake?
I need to use iodine solution, but am not sure what "absorption of iodine from this solution may lower the iodine uptake of the thyroid" means in terms of my hypothyroidism. Does the reduction of uptake mean that I will be more hypo, or less?

Scan Query
I was supposed to have a scan at a private clinic but when i told them I was allergic to iodine they said I must have it in hospital because it was too risky. Does anyone know why?

Just joined the group... thank you! Hoping for some help, been on levothyroxine now for over 23 years, it was effective for a few years, but the weight, joint aches started and got worse. The usual for underactive thyroid. Anyway fast forward 20 plus years, the weight sticks better than Gorilla Glue

Low Blood Pressure.
i have very different problems concerning my A-Fib compared to most of you. So will go in to a bit of history of my latest health fiasco. I am 77 and have had low blood pressure a long as I can remember. I developed A-Fib about 7 years ago. Therefore I can’t take the Beta blockers because they
