Jumping for Joy
We went to see Dr Bloor at The Christie this morning following months of uncertainty his platelet count has increased to 33 (not high in the great scheme of things) from 6 last week and we also received the fantastic news that he is able to be treated with
Idelalisib
+ Rituxin starting next week.

Part 2 of ASH Interview with Dr. Sharman, a patient meeting in Seattle and off to iwCLL later tonight
We also cover the latest research on
idelalisib
and rituximab, and what research in general is still needed. I'm heading off to the International Workshop on CLL in Sydney, Australia today and will be attending sessions and doing interviews while I'm there.

Muscle spasms (Cramp, Charley Horse)
My husband is experiencing spasms both day and night, he is on the verge of having more treatment, hopefully
Idelalisib
and Rutuximab, if his haematologist is able to get funding. He does also have heart failure so not sure whether it's that or the CLL that is causing his problem.

CT scan 2015 info update #1
The need to have imaging, from a research perspective, is greater with the newer KIs (Kinase Inhibitors) such as Ibrutinib, ACP-196,
Idelalisib
etc. but the risk probability of SPM from frequent CT scanning is also increasing with KI (kinase Inhibitor) use as people who would otherwise have died, are

Chemo makes resistant cancer stem cells???
(Ibruinib,
Idelalisib
, Imatinib), deacetylase inhibitors etc.? In CML the chosen therapy of Imatinib aka Gleevec still produces resistant cancer. Curiously to both "mammary carcinoma" and Imatinib relapsed CML patients, Dasatinib, a Src tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has shown efficacy.

Pneumonia from Idelalisib
I am in a clinical trial of BR +\-
Idelalisib
. I finished the BR while acquiring this pneumonia. A dry cough without a fever for 3 weeks. I am hugely better now. My Hem/Onc stopped the
Idelalisib
when they started the iv antibiotics.

Hello folks,
I have been offered a clinical trial, of
Idelalisib
(or placebo...) combined with Bendamustine and Rituximab. It seems like the way to go, but Iwould be grateful for any advice or opinions. I have no other symptoms other than fatigue, am 61 and a patient at UCH London.
