Regurgitation
Hello. So I posted a while ago about having ventricular bigeminy and that I was having a private echo done. A&E, my GP and my cardiologist said to not have it because my heart structure won't change in 7 months. I got my report back today and it turns I have pulmonary, mitral and tricuspid regurgitation

Mitral valve replacement - waiting for operation, the wait time and the do's and dont's advice please
Hi all, I had an ECG on 17th July which showed severe leaking of my Mitral valve. I had an angiogram on the 28th July which showed no blockages in my arteries. I have a meeting with my cardiologist on 15th August. To date my GP or the cardio team have not given me any advice on what I should be doing

mechanical heart valve patients using marijuana!!!
Hello people! I have recently (8months back)had an aortic heart valve replacement with a mechanical st Jude valve and also the grafting was done. The reason I’m posting here is that I’m concerned and curious to know that whether Consuming marijuana (once a week) for recreational purposes can interfere

Shortness of breadth
I had open heart surgery 8 years ago, I used to have AFIB but a valve replacement resolved it so far. I also have sleep apnea and use a cpap. Recently I have been getting up in the middle of the night once or twice to urinate and I am experiencing shortness of breadth. After I urinate it goes away.

Oh no, I don't want this 😭
Hi, I've had a heart monitor fitted since beginning of June this year. The specialist says I've had a couple of 150+ HR events, and one event of no heartbeat for 3 seconds. My resting HR is often 37bpm, blood pressure is just about perfect 120/80. I don't get out of breath, though can get low blood sugar

Pleural effusion, then oramorph od !
Went in for my 6 week consultants review after my valve replacement and bypass on Wednesday (the first appointment was originally 12 weeks, but I got an earlier one so only 5 weeks 2 days....lucky I did). I thought I was not really improving on the breathless side, turns out I had a plural effusion (

Overdosing bisoprolol- can anyone offer advice?
I don’t know whether it is where I live ( the NW) but I really struggle to get appropriate treatment. Anyway I picked up my meds on Saturday. Opened them in the car and noticed my bisoprolol was suddenly in 5 mg tablets not 2.5 mg. I went back into the pharmacy to be told that I have been on 5 mg tablets

Sinus Rhythm with Various other Arrhythmias
Since having my first Afib episode in over a year after an ablation in March, 2022, I've had a very few additional Afib episodes. What's new is an almost daily spate of readings from my Kardia of: 'Sinus Rhythm with Supraventricular Ectopics", "Sinus Rhythm with Wide QRS", "Sinus Rhythm with Premature

Petrified of supposedly "benign" skipped heart beats.
I am obsessed with my skipped heart beats even though the 7 day event patch didn't show anything wrong. I want an echocardiogram, but I have to pay as the cardiologist and government don't think I need one. I live in New Zealand, and if the issue is serious or the doctor thinks it is warranted, then

update
not sure if you remember I was in and out of hospital a few times with undiagnosed bilateral pleural effusions. Well the next stage was to get some biopsy’s done to see if they can find out the cause but in clinic on Thursday I was told a meeting will be held on Tuesday to see if I now qualify for that

Doing the rounds of doctors again.
Early last month I went to Japan and met my daughter who's living over there. As we set off I was getting quite short of breath and my daughter (who is a doctor) started quizzing me as to why I was short of breath. I did try to brush it off-saying I was old and unfit but she kept persisting and told

Could I stop taking Rivaoxaban?
I’ve been on Flecainide, Bisoprolol and Rivaoxaban now for 5 years and have a pacemaker, my heart is in sinus rhythm at 60bpm. I understand that Rivaoxaban is to help prevent blood clots forming, but as my AF is now managed could I stop taking it? I get frequent gum bleeds despite excellent oral hygiene
