Just a little moan!
Started on
Gemzar
and had my first 9 rounds. During the end of those rounds I began retaining fluid and became very short of breath. Was going to Perth in August for a holiday so we decided not to give me any chemo until I came back and My Chemo Doc said she would investigate the

Gemzar
I've had two
Gemzar
treatments and will have the third on Tuesday. Then a week off. I'm coping quite well, few days of nausea and feeling tired, my hair is falling out more than on the fulfirinox. Of course I don't really care what the side effects are, as long as it helps.

Tumour not responding
Starting tomorrow I am going on to a weekly dose of
Gemzar
. On for three weeks then off for a week. Scan every three months. I've visited some very dark places this weekend but I will pick myself up soon and start being positive again.

Scared of procedure..
I have previously blogged about my husband and his
gemzar
treatments and now we are going to the doctor next tuesday (Dec 13) to see about getting the whipple procedure. The more I read about it the more scared I get about my husband having it done. It seems like such a radical procedure.

husband who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August (2011) They say no surgery yet because tumor is wrapped around an artery and touching a vein..do chemo and radiation first....couldnt do radiation because it is too large and would effect the surrounding organs too much...so did 7 weeks of
