I have been receiving Ibrutinib for 5 months but have just been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. Original Coping strategies for Living with CLL - Part 1- Making good use of "Watch and Wait". Please read new version!

FCR or FR? Which is better?
Hi, everyone and Chris, In Canada, tbe treatment is FR is major, not FCR. Do you know why? Does cyclophosphamide have any toxic effects, although FCR is more effective than FR ? Miee

Neutropenia after chemo
Blood work yesterday my husband is again very neutropenic after several months of slightly improved numbers. We are 10 months after 6 cycles of FCR. Oncologist rather grimly speculating his bone marrow may not recover. So very very discouraged. He has had shots of neulasta in the past and responds

FLAIR Trial – ErnieUK: Red and White Cell Cytopenias before round 3 FCR
I’m happily into round 3 of the FCR arm of the FLAIR trial now, with a couple of hiccups on the way. As always please correct me on any errors/omissions and please share your own experiences. I have had problems in round 3 with both Red Cell and White Cell Cytopenias i.e. Not enough of these cells.

11q Deletion - Starting First Treatment Via Trial
Hi everyone. I will be starting my first treatment since having been on on watch and wait. I have signed up for a clinical trial that will offer me either FCR or Imbrutinib. The Arm will be computer selected. I am obviously nervous about FCR and had hoped to avoid chemo. That may not be an option. Having

chlorambucil
Hi everyone, I think that chlorambucil was mainly used for CLL treatment before FRC was formulated. Today, chlorambucil is sometimes used instead of FCR. Is this the reason why chlorambucil is not so strong drug and so good for old patients? Miee

lung issues following fcr
Does anyone have experience with lung problems following fcr? My husband completed 6 cycles of fcr last April. Since has been ill three times with lung "infiltrates" and has had chronic cough. It is back again with a severe cough and lungs looking same as when ill earlier. We are seeing a lung specialist

Is Bendamustine better than FCR?
Just catching up here. People may wonder if they'd be better off with Bendamustine than the old standby, FCR. Apparently not as we hear in this video from German CLL researcher Barbara Eichhorst http://www.patientpower.eu/videos/dr-barbara-eichhorst-at-ash-2014-the-international-phase-iii-cll10-study

My immune system
I've been feeling so good lately physically and mentally. This past week I've been to the gym twice then to a yoga class and swam some gentle laps in the pool for a bit of aerobic excercise. Yesterday a walk on the beach with friends. After I'd been home an hour or two I started running a temperature

Cycle 1 of BR compared to FCR, and any advice regarding Port v. PICC line please?
I had 5 cycles of FCR four years ago, and although the nausea was dreadful, I didn’t miss a day of work as I’d timed the treatment each month to start the day before my two long days of piano teaching at the local primary school. By the time my second day's teaching was ending, the nausea would kick

FLAIR Trial - ErnieUK Bloods before round 2 FCR
Apologies for the delay in posting this as I’ve had some issues with the anti-sickness control medication during round 2, that I’ll post on separately. So here are my last x3 sets of figures, the “JAN” ones being at the end of round 1, just prior to starting round 2 treatment. These figures were literally

FLAIR Trial - FCR for me
(That reminds me of a silly question: Anybody know when
Fludarabine
plus Cyclophosphamide was first trialled for CLL? I think addition of the Rituximab, which improved the treatment success, came later).

Doc is recommending treatment
I've reached a point where I need FCR. I am SCARED, especially about side effects and the 50/50 chance of losing my hair. PLEASE share your experiences with me. Does it stay in remission once it gets there?

Prognostic and predictive factors, FCR and the question of cure, and more
Hi friends, In my second part of the interview with Professor Stilgenbauer from ESH on my blog http://bkoffman.blogspot.com, I think we finally have the clearest explanation of the important difference between predictive and prognostic factors. Dr. Stilgenbauer is also similar to Dr. Furman in his skeptical

Updated clinical data may significantly impact treatment of CLL - Jeff Sharman
Here is yet another video interview with Dr Jeff Sharman about how information presented at ASH2014 is anticipated to impact CLL treatment. Here he discusses the impact of idelalisib and ibrutinib on the treatment of relapsed patients and the relevance of FCR treatment in the older population: http:

Night time Leg Cramps
Hope you are all enjoying a really great Christmas. Been meaning to write about night time leg cramps, an issue that I think affects many of us as SLL/CLL progresses. I’m now at the end of round 1 of FCR treatment, so have some “before and after” experience. Over my 4 years of Watch and Wait, the night

FCR, FC, or F
Hi everyone: From Japan. I am stage A of CLL, p13 deleted. CD20 positive (not so strong expression). My situation is watch and wait. In Japan, we have only 2000? CLL patients, so hematologist's experience to treat CLL patients is a little. My hematologist told me that let's try fludarabin (F) mono
