Experiences with

Fludarabine, cyclophosphamide and rituximab (FCR)

Very soon I am going to start my first cycle of FCR. The problem is that there is loss of appetite not due to fear of therapy but due to my progressive CLL.I want to know ,if any had such an experience ,when my symptoms will resolve? Will that happen after the whole course of treatment or sooner ?

Now back from hospital I got selected for fcr which I was hoping to avoid, but going to approach it in a positive manor try and keep infection free and look forward to March when it will be finished.

For me, a teacher returning to his 23rd 'Start of the year' this year I am reminded that this time a year ago I was having the last of my 6 cycles of FCR.

Hi ,after just under 2 years remission after FCR , I am now starting ibrutinib in September.Just wondered how long people on here have been taking this?Thanks Martin

Beginning of July I had a Bone Marrow Biopsy and it came back with NO CLL/SLL I had failed FCR and went on to Venetoclax & Obinutuzumab. Obinutuzumab finished in Feb 2018.

After 3 rounds of FCR, my doctor said we can go ahead with plan to get BMB in September and hopefully stop treatment! Had no problems during chemo. Port was great to have. Nodes gone, blood work continues to go in right direction.

they can offer me the first or they have said there is a trial which consists of 1.fcr 2.ibrutinib 3.ibrutinib+venentoclax Apparently a computer decides.how do you decide which way to go,I'm a bit confused.any advice would be most appreciated Many thanks in advance dan ..

The rest are given FCR, then, anyone who relapses after being given FCR may be given ibrutinib. Do we know for sure that such a strategy is worse then moving everyone to ibrutinib first line? It may well be that ibrutinib can rescue effectively patients who relapse on other treatments.

My partner was diagnosed 5 years ago and just begun first round of fcr. He has no real side effects up to now but I wonder are there certain times during trwatment when the immune system is most compromised. We are avoiding busy places but dont want to live in a 'bubble' either.

I know when you have fcr your immune system is destroyed and infections are a great concern, but if you don’t have fcr and go onto the ibrutinib trials is your immune system affected in same way and if so is it affected for all the time your taking the tablets?

The Gazyva has made all my numbers normal except my plateles; they never recovered from FCR that I had in 2010 -11. I'm thinking of talking to my doctor about Ventalexa with Rituxan. I need to stop this rash because; it has interfered with my quality of life.

For those of you on sinemet, do you prefer sinemet immediate release or sinemet controlled release? My neuro is taking me off mirapex( due to bad side effects) and wants me to try sinemet. I don’t know which one I should try.

Doesn't seem to work

I went head first into FCR. I didn't know when it it hit me. I was sick! I knew I was a younger person with CLL but now it wad cruel and scary. When I finished chemo I waited to get back to normal but I was told I had a "new normal". Almost 10 years later I agree. I never got back to old normal.

Hi All, Completed first round of FCR 4 days ago pulled up reasonably well went back to work on Monday so happy so far. One thing I am soaked at night with night sweats each night since. Has anybody else had the same? Advice please!! 😁

After the third dose of the treatment, I think my body got over the treatment more quickly. I felt very nauseous for 5 days, but then much better and more like myself. Has anyone else felt the same? Maybe my body is better at dealing with the chemo now? Still neutrophenic after the treatment though

I have two choices the conventional fcr treatment or the Flair trial which may still mean fcr if that’s what the computer recommends has anyone any thoughts or advice, Thank you
