Longtime glaucoma patient
Hi. I just wanted to say that my experience with Glaucoma has been over many, many years. I’ve been very fortunate to have had treatment, isoptocarpine which was horrible. I have Myopia and these drops made it almost impossible to see for any length of time. They were to reduce the eye pressure quickly

Glaucoma and hayfever nasal spray
Excellent forum, thanks; I can't understand why I haven't found it previously. I have glaucoma in one eye, IOP in both eyes was previously managed by bimatoprost / timolol eye drops. My IOP followed the familiar path of slowly increasing over the years, commenced treatment with bimatoprost / timolol

Dorzolamide preservative free drops
Hi, does anybody have a problem with Dorzolamide drops. I have had a pain over my left eye, blocked nose and mucus in throat since I have been on these since January. I have tried everything, my GP is treating me for sinus problems although I have never suffered them before the drops. I am taking antibiotics

On bimatoprost ( lumigan). Have noticed bulge, looks like I'm wearing a contact lens
Hello everyone, I wonder if anyone can comment on this. At my last two eye appointments, when my consultant was examining my eyes, he asked if I was wearing a contact lens on my left eye. This was surprising as had not mentioned this on previous examinations , and anyway I wear glasses. I checked myself

Confused about reliability of visual fields tests results
Hello everyone,I'm feeling confused about how visual fields tests relate to real life experience of visual changes. I'm wondering how to communicate with consultants etc if what I experience, and what their tests say, don't match up. Today at my glaucoma clinic appointment I did a visual fields test

Hylo Tear before eye drops
I take Timolol twice a day (10 am & 10pm). One day a week I need to be out by 9.15 and so take my Timolol early. As I do voluntary work on a local Nature Reserve it is not a very appropriate place to be taking the Hylo Tear. So I would like to administer the lubricant BEFORE the Timolol. While the instructions

Tissue Press Method for Instilling Eyedrops
Hello from Canada. While I am new here, I am not new to glaucoma. I’ve been taking drops for 10 years and have had two SLT surgeries. Covid delays have really slowed testing and seeing an opthamologist so I am really not sure about the progression of my glaucoma. I have to wait until April for a visual

incorrect hospital letter
I had a letter summarising my recent appointment. At the appointment the doctor said I would be seen again in 3 months time and was to carry on taking the Brinzolomide drops. However the letter said I’d be seen in 6 months time and that I should take Dorzolamide drops, which I’ve never been prescribed

Shortage of Brinzolamide eye drops
Just been to the pharmacy to collect a repeat prescription of eye drops and been told they can’t get hold of any Brinzolamide drops due to a shortage. The pharmacist said dorzolamide is an alternative and is available. Is it okay to just swap onto another eye drop like this?

Pregnancy
Hi, I have pigment dispersion syndrome with a small amount damage to my right optic nerve but no change on visual fields on either eye. My pressures are relatively well controlled on latanoprost and dorzolamide. I am planning on trying to get pregnant next year and wondered how others managed their eyes

How long are cosopt ( timolol and dorzolamide) eye drops effective for after each application?
I have narrow angle glaucoma , diagnosed around 12 years ago, have been on various eye drops for that time ( more added as my glaucoma progressed) and had laser iridotomy in both eyes 6 years ago. My pressures have never been over 21 and for the last few years have been around 12-14. My glaucoma has

Confused about pressure and trabs
They gave me drops and a pill to bring the pressure down and then put me on

timolol
and monoprost. The doctor said that my right optic nerve was badly damaged and I should have trabulectomy asap, although 1 in 500 patients go blind with that surgery. Is that true?

Confused about laser treatment
SLT laser treatment v Panretinal Laser Treatment. Hello, this is my first posting on this forum, and I am looking for some clarification (if possible). I have inter ocular pressure in both eyes but the Consultant says it is not Glaucoma. The optic nerve is not damaged. I have eye drops, Monopost and

Timolol side effects?
From the day I was diagnosed with glaucoma about two months ago my eyesight seems worse, with glare, blurriness and dry, gritty eyes. That was also the day I was switched from latanoprost to latanoprost/timolol. Can timolol cause all of the above? I had SLT three weeks ago and I am waiting for check-up

Long term eye drop use
Hello folks. Does anyone have experience of long term usage of multiple eye drops please? I’m going back to see my consultant next week to review the results of the SLT from a couple of months ago. While my pressure still seems to spike at high twenties it hasn’t gone above that since the procedure

flying with glaucoma medication
I am flying for the first time since glaucoma diagnosis. Am I right to assume that the meds don’t include controlled drugs so I can just bring them on the plane? I am taking dorzolamide and Monopost. Many thanks. !

Trabeculectomy
Hi, Just had a field vision test showing more sight loss in 1 eye and increased pressure. I have been on latanoprost and timolol but consultant has now added brinzolomide but tells me if that does not help I need a trabulectomy. (Which he longer does as not now working for NHS) My concern is that
