Coming off Ropinerol
A family member, after years of taking Ropinerol with resulting augmentation to the point of its no longer having sufficient effect, has abruptly had the prescription for Ropinerol terminated, and another
dopamine
agonist prescribed in its place.

Rytary update
My afternoon
dopamine
slump is also worse on Rytary, I’m not sure why. Mid afternoon is rough. my MDS suggested adding 1/2 C/L 25/100 around 2:30, and it does help. And taking a lower dose in the evening doesn’t seem to help with sleep. I think Rytary accumulates too much in my system.

Does anyone have a comment about taking a Lecithin supplement for a person with PD?
An imbalance in
dopamine
and acetylcholine is believed to drive Parkinson’s progression." Would this hold true for Lecithin?

Where was I?
Dystonia is caused by low
dopamine
and in more severe cases it’s a symptom of Parkinson’s disease. It’s also significant that the body increases cortisol production to compensate for low
dopamine
. This would explain my ‘preggy belly’ which is at odds with my slim limbs and face.

Anyone tried Black Seed Oil?
Immunohistochemical analysis revealed
dopamine
neuron loss in the SNc area and decreased
dopamine
transporters in the striatum following MPTP administration. However, TQ treatment significantly rescued dopaminergic neuronal loss and
dopamine
transporters.

RLS Augmentation: 1) How to know if its Augmentation? 2) How to titrate off the drugs?
I don't know if my condition is getting worse due to age, diet, etc, or it is Augmentation from the Ropinirole (
Dopamine
Agonist)? Q2 - Would it be best to first Titrate down the Clonazepam (Benzodiazepine), or the Ropinirole? Or reduce them both proportionally at the same rate?

Sleepy kidney
I spent a week in ITU and was hooked up to
dopamine
for 3 weeks to help my blood pressure. My urine out has been slow, for a few days I got between 600-800ml but now am back down between 200- 300ml a day. GFR ranging between 10- 15. And creatine rising to between 350 - 400 if I don't diaylize.

How to wean off of ropinirole and find a good doctor.
He just start going to a new one and he wants to put my husband on another
dopamine
agonist - rotigotine and unfortunately due to his stage four kidney disease, he cannot take large doses of gabapentin. He tried 600 mg for his kidneys 10 years ago and I didn’t do anything to help him.

Hallucination side effect & Medication Management
Mirapex none, added SEROquel for hallucinations (didn't do anything, hallucinations still here, even more so, sleeping less bc of the hallucinations, swelling continues and in pain) --- Doc is adamant that the
dopamine
agonist (Mirapex) is the one causing hallucinations + swelling, but my dad HAS those

Parkinson's linked to higher levels of pheomelanin in brain: Could it be a biomarker or treatment target?
In a recent study published in Progress in Neurobiology, researchers discover that the substantia nigra of individuals with Parkinson’s disease had a higher concentration of pheomelanin, as well as pheomelanin markers associated with L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) and
dopamine
, than healthy controls

Magnesium and dopamine
Maybe someone can help explain the effect of magnesium on
dopamine
levels.I thought a
dopamine
agonist was helpful in calming rls. Magnesium is an antagonist so decreases
dopamine
levels, yet is touted as effective in controlling rls. Don't know if I'm making any sense here.

Method generates dopaminergic neurons lost in Parkinson’s disease
Researchers in Canada have developed a new method to generate functional dopaminergic neurons, the
dopamine
-producing nerve cells lost in Parkinson’s disease, from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC).

Severe RLS, non pharmacological healing attempts, and a recent bipolar 2 diagnosis
I’m currently researching the
dopamine
theory (as
dopamine
issues relate to bipolar and to work-related burnout too) and inflammation, and doing all I can in my day to day life to improve these areas to see if it helps. I’m worried I’ve missed something obvious along the way.
