PSA roller coaster
I had no side effects from the
docetaxel
except some peripheral neuropathy. Hopefully I will tolerate the cabazitaxel as well.

Predicting Neuropathy From Chemotherapy
Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, men with a mutation in their VAC14 gene are more susceptible to
Docetaxel
chemotherapy induced neuropathy and nerve pain and might want to avoid this treatment.

Down the line, I may accept Xtandi or Zytiga but I have definitely decided to refuse
docetaxel
chemotherapy or its various equivalents if and when that time comes.

Green tea and quercetin may sensitize PCa to docetaxel
Coincidentally, another polyphenol +
Docetaxel
study appeared in PubMed today. Not a PCa study, but chrysin improved
Docetaxel
results. Also, there were reduced side effects. Chrysin prevented edema - no swelling in those little mouse ankles at all.

PSA response on Docetaxel
Some newly diagnosed men with high volume metastatic PCa begin
Docetaxel
immediately after initiation of hormone therapy. Some studies have linked PSA response (>50%) during chemo to longer survival.

Xtandi failure
PSA went from 30 to 32 over 12 weeks since starting Xtandi, post
docetaxel
and concurrent Provenge. Looking for guidance on discontinuing Xtandi and moving on to Xofigo, give it more time or some other treatment. Was castrate resistant 8 months post diagnosis and while on
docetaxel
and lupron.

Germ Line Mutation Analysis
Received first TCH Chemo (
Docetaxel
+ Carboplatin + Herceptin). My question is : Doctor has asked Germ Line Mutation Analysis, what it is going to found ? how it can effect treatment? Do we have enough data to to drive suggestion/treatment with enough confidence?

Progressing metastatic prostate cancer
Starting
docetaxel
April and still on zoladex and zometa. Also no physical symptoms to affect quality of life. Last November did stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) treatments to L3 spine but evidently that failed as bone scan still shows increased activity there.

Short-Course Bicalutamide with or without Bevacizumab
13.3 months for Casodex+Avastin. "... key eligibility criteria included increasing PSA level (≤50 ng/mL), PSA doubling time <18 months, low-burden metastatic or nonmetastatic disease, and asymptomatic metastases (lymph nodes <3 cm, ≤5 bony metastases) ..." My journey so far
Restarted
docetaxel
last week since I reacted so well, but we will reevaluate after 3 cycles. Considering 3 next steps. Current PSA is 1467, but as my doctor says that is only a number to be considered in conjunction with how I feel and what scans show.

Propolis - CAPE
CAPE Studies: [1] "Caffeic acid phenethyl ester synergistically enhances
docetaxel
and paclitaxel cytotoxicity in prostate cancer cells" Of great interest to me was the effect of CAPE on the estrogen receptors ERalpha & ERbeta. Normal prostatic epithelial cells have little or no ERalpha.

Metastatic prostate cancer
Jus want to find out if anyone who has had
docetaxel
chemotherapy but not effective and then go on to cabaxitazel .. What is the outcome? Is this second line of chemo successful ? Will PSA go up and will it eventually go down? Or is PSA relevant anymore? Any cases? Many thanks!

Serum testosterone & ADT
Moreover, recent studies have shown that some patients may benefit from the addition of upfront
docetaxel
chemotherapy. To date, no studies have been able to distinguish patients who will benefit from the combination of ADT and
docetaxel
chemotherapy.
