AR-V7 and Circulating Tumor Cell DNA Testing - Availability and Use
The detection of AR-V7 in the nucleus is associated with a reduced response to abiraterone and enzalutamide and better response to chemotherapy such as
docetaxel
and cabazitaxel.

Most likely positive for genetic mutation and AR-V7
Soon to start with
docetaxel
6 cycles. The MO here said he is most likely certain that my husband (Dondee) will come out positive for genetic mutation (BRCA2) due to his young age at diagnosis and early failure on zytiga (7months).

My husband was diagnosed in May of 2017 (two years ago) and he has done Zytiga, Chemo (
Docetaxel
), different rounds of radiation and he was only 2 months out of Chemo when his PSA began to rise again substantially.

Adenocarninoma with neuroendocrine differentiation
They are going to do a baseline CT scan and then start
docetaxel
again. In reality what does this all mean for my dad and his prognosis? What other options are there if
docetaxel
fails? I have been dreading the day that we got this diagnosis.

Docetaxel
6 courses every 3 weeks, she then said we still have a full quiver of arrows after that. She suggested I switch from firmagon to lopron as it cuts down on the need for a office visit every month.

Lost Another Round
On to
docetaxel
which droves the PSA down as long as I was on it, but started going back up as soon as I went off. Then Xtandi and the PSA continued going up. I'm also Xtandi resistant.

Dental work + Delayed treatment
So, we will see him in 2wks at the same time that we are about to start supposedly with
Docetaxel
. Question, is it ok to delay chemotherapy until early next month and find out first if my husband will test positive for genetic mutation so we can have a more targeted treatment afterwards?

T levels and Zytiga
My sixth and last
Docetaxel
infusion was two weeks ago and I should be feeling better in the weeks to come. My PSA was last seen at 0.02 and is probably even lower by now, though my MO decided it's not worth testing every three weeks at such low levels.

Food/Supplements to avoid while on Chemo?
Just wanted to ask if you have avoided taking in any specific food, supplements, fruits or juices while on Chemo (
Docetaxel
)? Our MO is quite wary about taking in high antioxidant stuff while on chemo as it might make the treatment less effective.

First post: Hazy with Xtandi - any experience/advice?
Advanced prostate cancer, Gleason 9, meta to spine; done bicalcutamide, Zytiga,
docetaxel
(stopped for severe reaction), Xtandi for 6 weeks and feeling hazy (slow, hard to concentrate). Last PSA check 0.6. Anybody share experience or advice? Much appreciated.

Bone scan. Thoughts?
My dad just had his second bone scan following completion of 6 rounds of
docetaxel
. PSA has fallen from 2230 to 0.06. I've attached a comparison of the first (left) and second (right) scans. He has 2 lesions that persist.

My Story
I've had 6 cycles
docetaxel
chemo and radical radiotherapy to the prostrate, pelvic lymph nodes and left pubic ramus. In 2018 I started enzalutamide which, sadly failed after 3 months.

Hi we are new to this site
My husbandwho is 62yrs has had 6
Docetaxel
sessions, with Prednisolone 5mg, every day. He also started Prostap 3 straight away and has this every 3 months. The Prednisolne tablets have finished today, and we are due to see the oncologist on Monday 25th March, to see how his treatment has gone.

I have 3 cycles of EC then 3 cycles of
Docetaxel
followed by 15 rounds of radiotherapy. I’m home now and waiting for the side effects... I have no idea when they will kick in and any advice would be great!
