Estrogen therapy rediscovered
The latter was done with
diethylstilbestrol
(DES) offered as fosfestrol and many further names. In India
diethylstilbestrol
is offered as Honvan and still used today against prostate cancer. In men, the required estrogen is produced from testosterone.

To the best of my knowledge DES (
diethylstilbestrol
), which was an 'oral' estrogen is no longer available due to the increased risk of cardio events. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Feel free to contact me...Ron

Free vs Total Testosterone? - Redux.
The study by Byar was also able to show a contributing effect of insufficient androgen suppression on overall mortality, however, this effect was observed with the administration of
diethylstilbestrol
(23), and unlike our current study, not with LHRH analogues in conjunction with abiraterone acetate

How many of you are using tE2 as your only form of ADT?
I imagine most of you know something about the old, synthetic, oral estrogen DES (
diethylstilbestrol
) that was used as ADT until the mid 80's when it was discontinued and replaced with Lupron (leuprolide).

Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) & Diabetes.
Chemicals that are known endocrine disruptors include
diethylstilbestrol
(the synthetic estrogen DES), dioxin and dioxin-like compounds, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), DDT, and some other pesticides.

HIF-1α inhibition by DES.
We are 30+ years into the Lupron era, but
diethylstilbestrol
[DES] was used for about 45 years before that & shouldn't be entirely ignored. DES is a synthetic estrogen.

Occult cancer in patients with deep-vein thrombosis [DVT].
It is fairly well-known that the old ADT treatment,
diethylstilbestrol
[DES], a synthetic estradiol, increased the risk for thromboembolic events, but it appears that castration therapy can also increase risk. Nattokinase can accelerate the breakdown of the fibrin in growing clots.

Remarkably, 3 mg per day of
diethylstilbestrol
(DES) taken orally maintained disease stability for 24 years, at which time his PSA began to rise despite a castrate level of testosterone (28 ng/dl). His bone scan showed metastatic disease to the thoracic spine, sternum, and multiple ribs.

DES (
diethylstilbestrol
), a synthetic form of estrogen, was used between the early 1940s and 1971.Women who took DES during pregnancy to prevent certain complications are at a slightly higher risk for breast cancer. This does not appear to be the case for their daughters who were exposed to DES before

OK, but before Lupon (1985), the synthetic estrogen
Diethylstilbestrol
[DES] had been used since 1941. High doses (5 mg or higher) were associated with thromboembolic events. Today, there is interest in DES at 1 mg or thereabouts, which is considered to be less risky.

Is anyone here a DES daughter/son or did anyone take DES while pregnant??
Diethylstilbestrol
(DES) is a synthetic estrogen that was developed to supplement a woman's natural estrogen production.
