A fun night in the hospital
They could have slapped me into
dialysis
and gave me a medication that could have caused brain damage. The thing is my potassium usually runs high like over 5.2 for the last couple of years because of eating Plant based and I am on a BP med that raises potassium.

Living vs. Deceased Donor?
I live in CO and the kidney wait for me is 7 years long : ((( I have been on
dialysis
for 2 years. I am pursuing a living donor. Any feedback would be so appreciated regarding how to find one.

Spoke to nephrologist.
In this country they wait until you are gfr 6 or 7 before they put you on
dialysis
and mine is 21 at the moment so I wouldn't be considered for the transplant list just yet. I mentioned the fact that I am group O and incompatible with other groups apart from my own.

Dialysis Day very anxiety provoking
I have already reached out in
dialysis
support but not very many helpful suggestions that I have not already tried. I also take Ativan before each session And this does not help either.

Newly diagnosed with CKD and preoccupied with what this means for the future
So, do I just continue to monitor creatine levels and urine for protein until reaches a threshold for
dialysis
, then I’m forever tied to home for PD or making sure there’s a HD center near by?

Medicare and Transplant
Thankfully, he didn’t have to go on
dialysis
. We were preparing for that and was told the
dialysis
center would be doing the Medicare paperwork. I’m concerned that we’re going to miss the window of opportunity to sign up. Especially for the cost of the transplant surgery.

I'm new. My mom is in the ICU. She's 49 her birthday is next month. We're all staying strong for her.
She went to her
dialysis
that day. After she was done my sister's took her to the ER. The doctor told my dad and sister's that moms eyes is yellow. Doctor was hoping that it wasn't due to liver problems which turned out to be just that. They sedated her to put the breathing tube in.

Muscle cramps
I was wondering if anyone experiences foot cramps in the pre
dialysis
stage. Im generally well, but recently have been getting these painful cramps but dont want to unduly panic about it by calling my dr. So easy to become slightly hypochondriac with this disease.

Father not waking up after septic shock
He was critically stable and on ventilation,
dialysis
and on heavy heart medication (noadrenaline). Later we found out he had to be revived too for 10 minutes. Time went by and he got more and more stable each day.

Initial Transplant Eval
I went along with her to
dialysis
during my summers for a couple years, then she received a transplant in my freshman year of high school. I don't recall any restrictions for distance. We lived 90 minutes from the transplant center; the same transplant center I just visited.

Please I would appreciate some honest feedback - I feel now that I don't really have a chance of avoiding
dialysis
- my next blood test is due in Feb 23. I am so scared now - what have those doctors done to me.

Fed Up with everything.
The thought of spending the next few years either at work or on
dialysis
with no social life or a chance to go on holiday is really soul destroying. Sorry for having a rant. Just when you get your head around all this @#%@ ..its one step forward about 10 back 😞😞.

Reducing phlebotomy in hemodialysis patients
Is there any kind of advocacy that would permit physicians to submit lab draw requests to outpatient
dialysis
units. I have found my
dialysis
unit is very reluctant to do this even though the physicians making the request are in the same hospital system.

sister in induced coma.
She is on a ventilator,
dialysis
, blood pressure meds, so many wires and machines. It’s breaking my heart. My dad has barely left her side. Slept for 2 hours if that in days. The plan is to bring her out of sleep and see how she goes in another day or so.

PD - Back in the Saddle again - A Valentines story
I go in Tuesday (Valentines day) to find out how the labs that they took last week show my
dialysis
is working. I had to do a 48hour urine collection, and then take a sample from an effluent drain bag and take it in to the clinic. This will let us know if my prescription should be adjusted.

Nausea and dizziness CKD stage 3b no albuminuria
I am worried sick that this is a prelude to the inevitable heart attack, a fate that awaits most non
dialysis
patients in stage 3b. I have alerted his PCP who has not responded yet. Looking for advice and feedback. Thanks, grateful for this forum.
