Generic Medications
My 12 year-old was on Quillivant but switched to
dexmethylphenidate
due to costs. The first month was fine, but this second month - new manufacturer - has been horrific. It’s like he’s not on anything at all. Most benefit of the stimulant is not seen. Any insights?

First day on meds - jittery?
Just completed day 1 of
dexmethylphenidate
xr 10mg (generic for focalin xr). I haven't taken ADHD meds before. Is it normal to feel jittery? I felt like how I am when I drink too much coffee (which I am sensitive to, to begin with).

Finally starting medication--what now?
Now she prescribed me focalin (
dexmethylphenidate
). My last year of highschool I was on Concerta xr (methylphenidate). It helped, but took a high dose to do so, which sometimes ended up too much.

Adderall and Concerta, at different doses were the drugs that we began with, but just before he graduated from elementary (6th grade), early in May we changed to
Dexmethylphenidate
and it finally worked!

Twins picking eyelashes out on medicine, suggestions?
I have twin girls and they have been itching their eyes and picking their eyelashes out on
Dexmethylphenidate
. They also take Risperidone, which is supposed to prevent the picking.

dexmethylphenidate
er. I think he will need a higher dose but let's wait and see.I always knew there is something but it has gotten so bad that we finally had him tested.I'm glad they have communities like this to share and to get advice.
