Oooops!!!
I have had a bit of a stomach bug for the last day or 2 and was just waiting for it to trigger my Afib. Lo and behold it happened this morning. Woke up fine and then boom Afib as soon as I moved my bowels. I have pill in the pocket and took it almost straight away. Normally this sorts me out in about

New to the medical field
I'm new to the medical field, as in less than 2 years of experience. I'm a SRNA at a LTC facility. Have a resident that went into Afib at the hospital. They had normal vitals (temp, pulse, O2, respirations and manual B/P) as they left my Facility less than an hour before they left. I'm just wondering

AR L702H question
So Mike did the guardant analysis and it says he has 1.5%ctDNA or mod for the AR L702H gene mutation. I know this is associated with castration resistance but is there other relevant information about what this might mean? Are there trials for this? Does this mean some treatments might not work as

Blood thinners?
I would like to know if everyone diagnosed with paroxysmal afib is on blood thinners? My EP wants me to start taking xeralto but I am reluctant (reason is a liver leason) however I am on baby aspirin. My afib episodes are short, couple of minutes only but I have ectopics a lot. My doc's explanation

Very positive meeting with Rhythmologist
Hi Everyone As some of you may know I have been scratching my head about whether to have or not have an ablation. I went to see a Rhythmologist who was very communicative and reassuring. He is quite young and laid back in a nice way. I asked him how many ablations he did a year and his answer was

Newbie
Hi folks. I have had PAF for a few years that always self corrected. About 6 months ago I had a persistent attack and went to A&E. Was given Flecainide and it corrected in an hour. Had all the usual tests and my heart is in rude health. It happened again at the turn of the year and I was given pill

Have their been Atrial Fibrillation targets in the NHS?
I was diagnosed with AFib at the end of 2018 and referred to an NHS hospital in London. I didn't hit it off with them, largely I think because I was unsure if I wanted any treatment. I had a consultation today with a consultant at a different NHS hospital and he thought it very sensible just to live

The anxieties of AFib at 26 years old…
2 months ago after a meal with friends, I went into AFib & was in resus for around 16 hours before they managed to bring my heart back to SR via flecinide IV. No underlying medical conditions, yes 26 years old. There was no clear indicator on what the trigger was from the doctor, however, I put it down

Newbies to afib - harness your fear
There have been a few posts on the forum lately from people who are new to afib. They are scared which is understandable. Right - don't be. It can affect your head and then you have failed - or have you ? Your a team player - I'm in it right now and it's intense - so what will I do ? Fight or flight

My Pet Rat, Ralph
My pet rat, Ralph, is suffering from a heart problem, and is dying. He is one year old. He has been such an amazing pet, and emotional support. I just found out today that a surgery would do little to correct the issue, and that we are going to need to make a VERY quick decision whether to humanely

Ectopic Beats Don't, In Themselves Constitute Afib. Correct?
I am 5 weeks out from my first Cyroablation which apparently went well. Also, the migraines I reported here did, as others predicted, end after about two weeks, thank God. Since the ablation, I have some eptopics that I didn't have before ablation on the same dose of Flecainide I'm on now. I know Bob

Heart Failure Question
Hello I am looking for some perspective I think. My husband was not treated for his AF and high heart rate for four weeks until I managed to get him to ignore the GP and go to A& E, He was diagnosed with heart failure (35%) and is now on 8 different drugs. He had a follow up procedure booked (cardioversion

How long does it normaly take Dofetilide to work?
I have been taking dofetilide for just over 1 month. I don't have AF but thousands of PAC's, ectopics and atrial tachycardia every day. These palpitations keep me awake for hours every night. So far I have seen no relief from palpitations. I see the doctor next week and I want to get off the pills because
