Colomycin

I have been on Colomycin for 18 months without stopping for bronchiectasis and have them besides very itchy skin. Is there anyone that can help with suggestions how to deal with it. They start in the feet and hands and then on to my srms and legs.

After 4 courses of Ciprofloxacin this year, I was prescribed twice daily nebulised colomycin by the consultant a month ago. Has anyone any tips on getting the condensate out of a 3m nebuliser exhaust tube which goes out of the window?

I have had an allergic reaction to colomycin I believe there is an alternative drug, can any one tell me what it is ? Many thanks John

He was quite shocked that I wasn't being monitored and is going to find out what has happened, I know I'm not as bad as many of you on the forum but what are your thoughts on being on colomycin so long.

Just started on Colomycin nebbed twice a day, after hospital kindly colonised me with pseudomonas 6 months ago , can you tell me of your experience with this drug and whether or not you have seen any positive result and if so how long to get any benefit. all comments welcome as I am pretty desperate

I have tried Colomycin and other drugs and can't tolerate. I am now doing the Clarithromycin for 4 weeks and 2 weeks off until I see my respiratory Dr. on 30th December. has anyone been in a similar situation?

I am going to hostpital tomorrow for a nebuliser and colomycin I would like hear of your experience with colomycin, as I always seem to get side effects with most medication.

Had to visit hostpital after advice from paramedic , to be told that there was nothing more they could be done for me except carry on with colomycin, salbutomol and oromorph. What I now need advice on concerns my gut, I have no appetite and when I try to eat I feel sick after a few mouthfuls.

Have been really trying to cope with this stuff after stopping for a while at Christmas and then having the pseudomonas return. But after 6 weeks I need to stop. He came home after 14 days and is now on nebulised colomycin as well as everything else. We saw his consultant two days ago and he said there was no chance of the lung reduction surgery now, due to the heart issue as well as deterioration in his lungs and it was a case of palliative care.

If I stop the colomycin things seem to improve but when I go back on i’m Ok for a few days then the symptoms seem to start up again. My consultant wasn’t convinced it was the colomycin as I also have asthma and asked me to persevere. Bit of a nuisance as it seems to keep the pseudomonas at bay.

Mum has Bronchiectasis so using colomycin via neb daily and is taking antibiotics during periods of illness. Reading more and more research re: healthy gut and its link with the immune system. Anything which can boost system to fight winter bugs is really needed.

Hi I have bronchiectasis and I'm on Colomycin with a nebulizer. I have extreme fatigue and flu like symptoms all the time .If anybody else has the same symptoms have you found anything that helps Either medicine or alternative therapy Would be grateful for any advice

Now live in Malta where treatment is colomycin nebs x2 daily. If sick ciprofloxacin and augmentin . Had cold 2weeks ago chest infection so took antibiotics still sick so short of breath , can't do anything not even walk the 🐕. Has anyone else experienced similar?
