Living with AF - my story
I was due to get a
cardioversion
but in the pre-checks they found that my heart was back in rhythm and it was cancelled. In a follow-up appointment the doctor suggested that I might also have a sinus arrhythmia. They stopped the digoxin and bisoprolol and put me on Flecaninide.

Edoxaban as anticoagulant to facilitate earlier cardio version
It's saying using Edoxaban 2 hours pre
cardioversion
is as effective as warfarin with bridging and means
cardioversion
can take place much more quickly than before.

25 years of PAF - 5th Ablation completed – progress report
These preemptive actions had a significant effect and although the
Cardioversion
pad has left a very clear mark on my chest the itching is only very slight. I cannot tell you what a relief this has been as I suffered so badly before.

Sinus rhythm returned on it's own
A third
cardioversion
was scheduled for today, but I returned to sinus (normal) rhythm yesterday and will not need that 3rd procedure. While I know this afib seemingly has not rhyme or reason, I still want to make some sense of it or, at least, try.

Things going 'bump' in the night!!
Ended up soon dozing off to sleep, then suddenly, just felt as though a
Cardioversion
had happened to me!! Woke up with such a massive jump (for the want of a better word), just felt as though I was suddenly being brought back to life!!! Wow! Anyone else experienced anything like it?!

Off Apixaban
Hi, I was in asymptomatic persistent AF until my
cardioversion
in July and have been in NSR since. My consultant put me on Apixaban for a several weeks before the
cardioversion
and has now advised me that I can stop taking it and I had my last dose on Friday.

Ablation options
I recently had an unsuccessful
Cardioversion
attempt. At a follow up appointment with my Cardiologist he told me they tried three times, the first i had NSR for less than 2 mins, the second no NSR and the third attempt an NSR for less than a minute.

Allergy to sticky cardioversion pads
Yesterday I had a
cardioversion
and today the site of the patch they stuck to my back is very itchy the edges of which look like crawling ants. I was wondering if anyone else has had such a problem and if so what remedy did you find? Pete

Cardioversion
Has anyone had
Cardioversion
? What does it entail and how did/do you feel afterwards? Did it correct your AF? Concerned :(

Ablation Success
I would be interested to know what the overall success rate is for ablation procedures for Atrial Fibrillation. I see many posts on here where the outcome has (long or short term) been unsuccessful. My conclusions from comments by others tends to suggest that the procedure is largely a total waste of

Ablation cancelled
He thought this might be possible and would check for me. 2 hours later I was told that my AF ablation was cancelled but that they had agreed to a cardioverion for me. 1 hour later I had the
cardioversion
and I am please to report that I am now back in NSR.

Here I go again
Although not a newbie, this is my 1st post. following cardioversions and ablations, I sincerely thought I was cured, until a year after my 3rd ablation, AF came back to me. I contacted my GP, who gave me an ECG, heart-rate 130, she then contacted local Cardiac Unit requesting portable ECG monitoring

Still waiting for new ablation date with my heart playing games
relieved to have been able to get back my NSR myself, something with which I am normally successful but I cannot stop the anxiety each time I am in AF wondering if I might have to go and seek advice at A&E and the possibility of them looking at my recent records and saying something like "well you had a

Introduction post for Permanent AF 41yr old male - asking for advice on dealing with symptoms after abalation
Thought I would give a quick introduction of myself, I'm a 41 yr old male with Permanent AF diagnosed in Nov 2015, I've since had
Cardioversion
which lasted two weeks and opted for PAF ablation back on June 7th and all seems to be going fairly well.

Flipping back after cardioversion
I had
cardioversion
3 weeks ago and everything was going ok. Was feeling better than I had for ages. One night, about a week ago, one of my neighbours decided it would be a good idea to start burning some rubbish in his garden. It was about 1 am when an very loud bang woke me up.

The long view with AF
I am 77 live alone and have been in permanent af since at least 2008 when I had a single
cardioversion
that lasted about six days. I had a single bypass and tissue aortic valve replacement a year ago. The operation was very successful but I remain in permanent af as previously.

Advice about the newer anticoagulation drugs
The Pacing Clinic altered my pacemaker and it seemed to resolve itself but my Cardiologist said if the issues continued then I would have to have
Cardioversion
, I wasn't happy with that so he started me on Beta-blockers.
