how can I help my son with feeling depressed after his cardioversion two days ago which appeared to have gone well?
my son who had a
cardioversion
two days ago, felt full of the joys of spring afterwards as he felt so much better. However reality kicks in and he’s feeling really down.

Post Atrial flutter
Hi me again My husband had a
cardioversion
on Friday. It wasn't the same as usual when he has had Arrythmia but for severe atrial flutter and it was a rushed job in A & E where he was only partially sedated so he felt it. His heart rhythm/ speed is back to normal but he feels rubbish.

Advice regarding setting of expectations ahead of cardiology appointment would be appreciated.
Hopefully I’m not leading the witness too much, but is someone in my situation, with fairly low symptoms and HR below 100 unlikely to be a candidate for
cardioversion
or ablation or pacemaker. The only definite I know is that I am in persistent AF.

Cardioversion
In short I would say if you are offered
cardioversion
, don't let the idea scare you off.

No treatment offered for A F
She's never been offered
cardioversion
, ablation or anything else; in fact she'd never even heard of them. She lives alone since her husband died and is now really struggling with breathlessness and tiredness. She only sees the cardiologist once a year or talks to the local c hemist.

Any ideas folks?
They did a
cardioversion
and all was good. Yesterday for whatever reason, my heart decided to go the opposite way, lower. I have a pacemaker which is set at 60. My heart rate since yesterday is 60 and a few time I’ve felt my pacemaker kick in. What causes this to happen? Never been low before.

AFib and Cardioversion
For the last month have been on Apixaban in readiness for a
Cardioversion
at the end of this week. I was originally quite hopeful about this but looking at the stats it’s likely that this will be a temporary reprieve at best from Afib.

Good News
I was unable to walk, and I had had a
cardioversion
that not only failed, but almost finished me off. my EP, who has a passion for what he does when and created a working pacemaker and wiring just for me alone.

How Much Activity?
When I has my
cardioversion
I asked about physical activity and was told "listen to your body". I honestly don't know what that means.

Afib and A&E - Update
I'm psychologically destroyed by this and I fear they won't do anything because I don't have high rate, leaving me for months in this again waiting for the
cardioversion
and taking meds that stop me from living my life... further damaging my heart by untreated afib.

Into the 2nd phase?
Heart rate around 80 (normally 50)...suggested and I felt like they were pushing me down the
cardioversion
route or ablation...both are my idea of please no!

Updates on AF meds
He said I could opt for an ablation or another
cardioversion
if I wanted, or just stay on my medications. So, for the time being, just staying on the meds and will see how things go with the gym.

Flecainide for chemical version
Persistent AF for over two years punctuated by NSR for 8mths after first
cardioversion
but only 2 weeks after second. Now on digoxin & sotalol which controls the rate well but limits activities. Clinic suggest trying Flecainide to see if it will chemically induce NSR.

Mitral Valve Af and fed up
He said he would reduce Amiodarone to 100mg to see if that would help me not go back into AF and is looking at doing another
cardioversion
. I am feeling absolutely awful. I’m constantly exhausted and unable to walk too far. Is this normal?

Second Ablation Recovery
(previously had 6
cardioversion
s too) Oh, but it was my groin stitches that had me climbing the walls. Last pain relief at 7:30pm, stitches out at 11pm. Yes, I know it’s only one longer stitch that’s cut first, but anyway, my threshold is pretty high but this brought me to tears.
