The room going round and round
It's a long time since I posted anything, sorry about that. I have had AF for goodness how long. After 3 failed cardioversions I have been on Dioxin, Dabigatran and Ramipril. dropping Bisoporol has made a difference and I can now walk about a mile before breathlessness starts. Basically I can function

Back to square one
Hello, I first went into AF three and a half years ago. I have had two failed Cardioversions, two ablations one 6 hours one 7 hours and felt on top of the world until November when a nasty virus set it off again. I had a routine appointment in Nov and have just had a routine 48heart monitor. My pulse

My AF journey takes a turn for the worse!
I was told by GP following a letter from the cardiologist I had seen as a follow-up to the final failed
cardioversion
that there was nothing more to be done since I was asymptomatic and treatment priority for scarce resources, understandably, would always be for those whose quality of life was much worse

Skiing update
Very apprehensive but the other side of the coin the amount of terrain we have covered, all red runs, has given me such a positive boost as I hit the three month anniversary of the ablation and the two and a half month anniversary of the

A week since DC cardioversion - back in ED
in almost monthly (it's been three months since my last episodes this month) So they went down the chemical
cardioversion
route, despite it not working before, but not having been tried for a year.

Post cardioversion
Hi all I had
cardioversion
yesterday and it worked, my HR is in NSR which is lovely after months of permanent AF but I seem to be quite breathless which has surprised me. Am I being impatient? Or should I speak to my Dr?

Awaiting investigation and possible ablation for Flutter.
I suspect that doing too much, too soon, set off flutter a couple of weeks after my last ablation (which stayed away for 7 months after
cardioversion
) and am determined to be more careful this time.

Follow up after Cardioversions...
So had a follow up yesterday. Consultant says I am an “urgent” case for Ablation, so am going for it. He’s also changed one of my meds’ from Bisoprolol which makes me feel terrible to Ira-TIL SR. Anyone had this drug/opinions?

AF what’s going wrong ?
I was diagnosed with fast AF in June this year, I had
cardioversion
which only worked for 2 days then my heart was back out of its sinus rhythm, I was put on 5mg of bisoprolol taken in the morning, my heart went back into rhythm and all seemed to me going well until I collapsed in my GP surgery, this

change of bispoprolol dosage - any thoughts?
since my
cardioversion
in March I have been in NSR with no AF episodes. I wanted to see if I really needed to stay on a beta-blocker as "technically" it's not needed if my HR and sinus rhythm is back to normal.

Hello, I'm new here.
I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), it is 4 x defects of the heart, and had an operation to correct my heart, this was back in 1976. I went to the Kruger National Park (where you can see the big 5) and had to drink malaria prevention medication. My heart went out of rhythm. I then went through

I’m having CRT cardiac resynchronisation therapy shortly,
I had internal
Cardioversion
which was successful in September and initially felt tons better, but now, not able to do much. I find this so frustrating as was a busy person prior to this. Thanx in advance, Janet

Pace & ablate, the only option?
s later & there it was suggested that I undergo a
cardioversion
procedure to 'shock' my heart back into synus rhythm. This was unsuccessful. Back to the E C who suggested that I take amiodene in preparation for an ablation.

Dark red/purplish marks on skin
He had a
cardioversion
on 5th Nov and it was a success. 😊. Hes on apixaban blood thinner, bisoprol beta blockers, ramipril 1 25 every night, statins, and blood presssure tablets. Hes started getting dark red circular marks on his arms and near his wrist. They aren't itchy or anything.

Post Cardioversion
Would be grateful to hear of any others recent experiences of post

, particularly what medication subsequently offered?
