Difference between Afib and atrial flutter
I’ve been told by my EP that I have shifted from Afib to atrial flutter. I have had a cryoballoon ablation, two radio-frequency ablations, two cardioversions. I’m on metoprolol Tartrate and flecainide. What precisely IS the difference between Afib and flutter? Will a fourth ablation help?

Introduction
Had 2 blood clots in the heart, 2
cardioversion
. Have diabetes. Don't drink never smoked. And was as fit as an athlete once. To look at me you would think I look well. I suffer with all things you would expect with the disease. I would love any advice from people who recognise the same.

It seems to me that most people here have had one or multiple Ablations of one type or another.
I'm 71 years old and my Cardiologists have never recommended a
CardioVersion
or Ablation of any type here in the Toronto Canada region.

After 2 radiofrequency cardiac ablations, still have atrial fibrillation Afib
After one
cardioversion
without improvement, I got my 1st radiofrequency cardiac ablation in late 2018. But the problem not solved. After a year with medication, I took 2nd radiofrequency cardiac ablation (mainly for SVC vein this time) in March 2020.

Ablation failure? 1 year on
I took flecanide I had left from pre ablation when I got home but it didn’t help get me into NSR so after a few hours I phoned NHS 24 and was told to pop up to A&E. bloods were fine and I ended up having a
cardioversion
under sedation and have been in NSR since (no medication).

Artial Fibrillation
I was diagnosed with AF last month and had a cardovision via private healthcare, the
cardioversion
procedure hasn't worked fully and I still have AF. I've been recommended to have a second
cardioversion
with Amiodarone. Does anyone else have experience in this procedure. Thanks.

An update on EP refusing ablation because of obesity.
Hi. I have posted several times because my EP has told me I need to be under 13 stone to ablate. I am 18 stone. In my last post I was back in hospital and about to be sent home on rate control because the hospital had said the drugs don’t work and they wouldn’t give me any more electro cardioversions

Amiodarone and side effects
Hi everyone, I have just received a letter from my cardiologist saying that I am going to be put on Amiodarone to help keep me in rhythm after my
cardioversion
. After researching the drug I see it’s a black box drug with toxic nasty side effects.

Pacemaker update
I have never heard of the last one, I would have thought the
cardioversion
would damage the pacemaker. Has anyone heard of or had this procedure? Perhaps I misunderstood and the
cardioversion
comes first before the pacemaker is fitted.

First cardioversion successful!
I had my first
cardioversion
this morning and the first zap put me into NSR. I was amazed how quick and easy it was and the hospital staff at St Thomas’ were brilliant, well done the NHS. I’m to stay on my current medication until appointment with EP to discuss.

1st Cardioversion
I had my first
cardioversion
on Thursday and I’ve returned to afib today. I feel really disheartened about it. I was aware that
cardioversion
wasn’t a cure but I expected a longer period in NSR if I’m honest.

Atrial Flutter and Cardioversion
I've stayed off work as advised by the cardiologist but I do wonder why I wasn't offered
cardioversion
in the interim while I wait for ablation. As I would have been able to return to work if it successfully put me back in sinus rhythm.

Got a follow up in a month and possible cardioversion.
I’m booked for
cardioversion
and a 24hr tape. I know I won’t need
cardioversion
if I’m still in sinus, but all positive for my next steps in my AF journey.

Cardioversion
I have had many cardioversions and felt fine afterwards. But I am not feeling so good after the one I had yesterday. I expected the sore bruised back of hands (they always have 2 goes with the canula) and the itchy burns area and the painful throat. But today I am aching all over especially down my right

Angiogram and Af
Had a successful
cardioversion
in June which was my first after being in AF for 9 months. My cardiologist recommended that I have an angiogram which came through for end of this month. I am really concerned that this might put me back into Af, does anyone know if this is likely.

Has anyone experienced intermittent atrial tachycardia? Comes and goes every few minutes for the last six weeks.
Annoyingly though this means I can't have a
cardioversion
. I am now awaiting an appointment with my EP on the 28th October. I've been told not to return to work until I've spoken to the EP.

Decisions and way forward?
Hi All Could you give me some of your sage advice/opinions please. I saw my cardiologist at the end of Spetember at my local hospital and he told me I was not suitable for any more cardioversions (only had 1) or ablations. I spoke to my HF nurse a few days later as to whether I could be referred yo

Flu jab before or after cardioversion
I am due to have DC
cardioversion
in 10 days. Any thoughts on whether I should have flu jab this week or post
cardioversion
. I wouldn’t want the side effects of the flu jab to bring on AF and makes the CV meaningless. Thoughts very much appreciated. Thank you
