I have had many cardioversions and felt fine afterwards. But I am not feeling so good after the one I had yesterday. I expected the sore bruised back of hands (they always have 2 goes with the canula) and the itchy burns area and the painful throat. But today I am aching all over especially down my right arm into my fingers and I cannot touch the outside of my throat on the right. I am also desperately tired but cannot settle. Any ideas?

Cardioversion
How you feel better soon. No experience of cardio version myself.
I would ring 111 and get their advice, as I think I would want re-assurance. A phone call and they will know what to advise you Barbl.
Having had a score of cardioversion s i would not think this is a normal reaction . I would phone cardiac unit at the hospital for advice/ reassurance.
Thank you Jalia
I had two cardioversions during my ablation and the next day my neck was very painful, couldn’t lie flat for several days, and my left arm kept locking. I put it down to my spine being fused so not reacting ‘normally’. However as there is no obvious reason for yours it seems a good idea to at least report it.
How are you feeling today Barb?
I'm guessing you had a TOE? This is where they put a fine instrument down your throat to your heart to check for lurking blood clots, before doing the cardioversion? Perhaps when doing that they have caught the side of your throat and this may have affected a nerve that leads to your arm?

When I have had my CV's I have been given the number of the nurses to call if i had any problems - if you have that then please do call as soon as you can. If you do not have a number for the nurses then call 111 or your consultant.
That sounds rough Barb. I hope the pain subsides soon.
It is, thank you and thank everyone on this forum.
