Radiation Therapy to the Sinus Area
I have started
cabazitaxel
and the initial results as reported are excellent. My MO (Mark Pormrantz at DFCI in Boston) and my treatment team have recommended radiation to attempt to kill any remaining mets in the sinus and around my skull.

Next steps with high PSA during Jevtana
Hi folks, I have had 3 infusions of
Cabazitaxel
over the past 10 weeks and I am due to go in tomorrow (Thursday, 8/27). My PSA has been rising dramatically, from 5.7 on 4/20 to 32.24 today. My scans did not show any decrease in Mets (S2, L2, T4,5,6,7), and a slight "shadow" of increase.

The Difficult Question most all of us will face.
We discussed the options again and how they could buy time or not. 1) Continue with Chemo but use
Cabazitaxel
instead:
Cabazitaxel
he said was more toxic and may be less tolerated than Docetaxel. I asked how long would it push my date out. He said 6 months to maybe a year.

Next Steps? Radium 223 or Jevanta (Cabazitaxel) - HELP - NEED ADVICE.
My friend is 56. Already gone thru Chemo (docetaxal), provenge, zytiga and xandi. MO wants him to start chemo which he doesnt want to do (again) and wants to know thoughts from others. Success (O.S) statistics with Radium 223? Running out of options. His PSA is rising but still low at .7 and imaging

Update on 6th Chemo session
May change me to
Cabazitaxel
. He is also going to request my initial biopsy for a test to determine if I would be eligible for any other treatments. (Thanks Tall Allen. It was exactly what you said he would ask so I was prepared.)

Questions to ask at new consult tomorrow AM (and future ones)? Also info on clinical trials? Other MO's you like?
Now on
Cabazitaxel
plus Neulasta, had 2 treatments. PSA increased (might be flare, might not). No side effects docetaxel; miserable on
Cabazitaxel
. Still on Lupron and Xgeva. Second
cabazitaxel
delayed a week due to high AST. Alkaline phosphatase is 379; current AST 93. PSA 46.

Cabazitaxel and Prednisone, side effects, when?
Hi guys, I started
Cabazitaxel
on Thursday 6/17/20 and I’m waiting on “the other shoe to drop”. They are having me take 10 mg of Prednisone every morning, so I no longer feel the 4 pm fatigue, except by habit. Is that the purpose of the steroid, to stave off side effects?

Anyone using yellow dock tea for anemia? If so, how much per day
He is currently taking
Cabazitaxel
, although it may be discontinued as PSA is rising and his liver levels went up. His next treatment is scheduled Monday. Thanks! Barbara

ROS 1 found in Foundation One liquid biopsy but not their solid biopsy. Anyone had findings in liquid but not solid? Exploring next steps.
As Barry has already failed docetaxel and enzalutamide and it looks like
Cabazitaxel
mightn't be working either, this is important as we're looking at other options. We've gotten varying opinions, I've looked at research, we have a medical consult scheduled Monday.

Entrectinib -- Anyone familiar? Oncologist suggested consideration downline due to rare ROS1 PRKG1-ROS1 fusion shown by Foundation One.
It looks likely that they'll try to keep him on
Cabazitaxel
right now, considering entrectinib if this fails.

Okay/safe to schedule second Cabazitaxel infusion 2 days past the usual 3 weeks?
Hi there, Maybe I'm a stickler, but I'm concerned husband's oncologist wants to schedule his second
Cabazitaxel
treatment for next Thursday, two days after his normal Tuesday every-three-weeks infusion,. This change is due to overbooking/ congestion after the Memorial Day weekend.

In need of advise for my father
The MO then suggested
Cabazitaxel
, and after a few rounds, it was stopped because the treatment was ineffective. What next treatment might be best for my father at this point? He is going to have an area treated with radiation to get rid of the pain in the coming days.

Why hasn't MO recommended Provenge? Ideas? He has extensive bone mets (is that it?)Almost no pain. Also 2 questions - clinical trial and PET
DESCRIPTION OF BARRY'S PC --- After docetaxel and enzalutamide failures, several consults plus our MO said
Cabazitaxel
is best option for husband Barry, who "failed" docetaxel and Xtandi. Therefore, he started
Cabazitaxel
last Tuesday plus Neulasta.
