Son 16 months steroids
Hi this is the first time posting. Looking for advice for my son. He is on ventolin and clenil inhalers. He had what they thought was bronchilitus last winter and a few hospital admissions for nebuliser and oxygen. He continued wheezing/coughing and in April was referred to a paediatrician. Since

Kangaroo Steaks For Tea?
I needed to take my nebuliser back to get another one...was glad to get rid of it actually because it was horribly noisy...couldn't hear yourself think! So we went into Roscommon town to the stores, which is a tiny little office on a scruffy industrial estate...all pot-holes and empty properties...the

New and starting medication tonight
My health issues started about 4 years ago when I got whooping cough in 2010. Got it again almost one year later in 2011. Never recovered from the second episode. Diagnosed with lung disease within 6 month of the second case. Lung volume ranges from 59% to about 70%, seems to be worse when I am sick.

When to use nebuliser
I was wondering how often peoe use their nebuliser and how you decide it's the time to use it. I take 2 puffs of 250 Seretide twice a day with a spacer and ventolin as and when needed. But this time of year, with the usual chest infection, on antibiotics and steroids, just wondering if using the nebuliser

Does anyone use a nebuliser
First off this is not an attempt to circumvent any rules of the forum, far from it. I admit the recent post did raise my level of curiosity. I have often considered buying a nebuliser to see if it would be of any help when I have one of my exacerbations that are generally virus related. Would one be

Anyone with "normal" FEV1 staged at moderate emphysema?
Hi everyone! I had my first visit to a respiratory specialist today and I'm even more confused. I thought staging was based on PFT results. With an FEV1/FVC % of less than .70 and an FEV1 95% predicted I thought pointed to mild emphysema. Though when the specialist put up the CT scans from May 2013

Weird sats!
Weird sats! My normal sats are between 87 and 94 and can drop very low during activity. I have recently become aware that when I feel unwell or breathless whilst resting without oxygen, my sats can be as high as 99! The last time this happened I ended up in hospital for 8 days with an exaserbation. But
