Long-Term Incidence of Secondary Bladder and Rectal Cancer in Patients Treated With Brachytherapy for Localized Prostate Cancer
After propensity-score matching, the 20-year incidence of bladder cancer was 6.0% for men undergoing
brachytherapy
and 2.4% for men undergoing prostatectomy. Likewise, the incidence of rectal cancer was 1.5% for men undergoing
brachytherapy
and 0.5% for men undergoing prostatectomy.

He presented three options for me to consider: external beam-28 fractions, SBRT-5 fractions and
brachytherapy
. So, I am leaning towards the SBRT. He's very open for me to use Cialis and other drugs (Flomax) if I want during TX. And there is no real rush or urgency to decide or start TX.

2 point PSA rise after HDR brachytherapy
Hello, Measuring from my lowest PSA after treatment, I am now a full 2 points higher with my latest result of 3.7. Studies seem to say that a rise of 2+ could be cause for worry--but my radiation oncologist says that this kind of increase doesn't mean anything until I get more PSA results over the coming

The
brachytherapy
I had in 2011 got rid of cancer from prostate gland as confirmed by a biopsy in 2016 and the above mentions PET/CT scan. The recurrent mass outside my prostate and attached to it has completely disappeared. So, why I have metastatic prostate cancer?

Problems with blood thinners
In April he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and he had low dose
Brachytherapy
for that in August. The prostrate cancer seems to be under control. Has anyone had muscle pains from blood thinners?

Update on My Lymph Node Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Initially, I was treated for low volume Gleason 3 + 3 cancer in 2011 with
brachytherapy
. In 2016, I an extra-capsular recurrence that was treated with ADT ( 3 months Firmagon and 6 months Lupron) and cyberknife.

Did radiation cause new cancer?
Spouse diagnosed with Gleason 9 last June( one suspect lymph node in pelvis) and has been treated with ADT, 5 sessions of high dose pelvic radiation and
brachytherapy
. PSA still undetectable so we were really dismayed at this new diagnosis.

Looking for Citations on research around low testosterone and low thyroid related to PCa, and about TRT for PCa.
I am about 27 months post RT,
brachytherapy
and 14 months post triple blockade ADT. Still on Avodart. Dx was ogliomet, G 8. Currently, scans are clear and PSA has increased slightly from <.008, to .011 over the last 6 months.

Received
Brachytherapy
in May of 2010 at the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center so I just passed the nine year survival mark. Back then, I had no idea that I’d still be around this long. Get a PSA every three months and a Cystoscopy every three months since I had bladder cancer in 2016.

Lost the Battle
Ten years ago he had
brachytherapy
. In 2018 he was on Zytiga for seven months until it stopped working. In January he started taxotere for a few rounds, then Jevtana and finally cyclophosphamide. He rapidly started to decline on cyclophosphamide.

Now going into clinical trials for specific types of cancer, Alpha Tau’s technology shows potential for treating any solid tumor.
All other types of
brachytherapy
(where a sealed radiation source is placed inside or next to the area requiring treatment) use beta or gamma radiation. “But that only causes a single-strand break in the DNA, from which the cell can recover,” Sofer explains. “And it’s not as focused.

Urinary/bowel issues during radiation?
I had HDR
Brachytherapy
over 4 weeks ago, and now 2 weeks completed of external beam (3 weeks to go). A few days ago urinating started to get very difficult, especially through the night. Dribble to weak flow, dribble, with every muscle in my body locking up in stress!

Treatments limited with recurring PCA but no mets
Seems like after a recurrence of Gleason 9, psa 20, after both external and hdr
brachytherapy
the medical system has chosen to have me wait until the cancer spreads before doing anything more than offer surgery, turned down before so why now, and ADT.
