Bronchiectasis Question
Hello All I have COPD and Bronchiectasis,I am under the Consultant at the Hospital who, after looking at my CT Scan results said he was not concerned about my COPD as it was very mild. I have had all the symptoms of a chest infection for the past 4 weeks, and I have been into hospital for tests.

Allergies, Intolerances and Autoimmune Diseases
When most of us think of the word "allergy" we are thinking of a systemic immune response, or at least an immediate and visible reaction. For myself as a child, allergies meant allergic rhinitis - streaming eyes, runny nose, and atopic reactions (rashes, usually itchy) to almost everything it seemed.

Only just got up.
Second night of reflux, :-( have not had it for while and the last two nights it has been really bad, it is still lingering this morning and I fell like I have been kicked by a horse just under my sternum. Have had my lorezapam, azithromycin and thyroxine this morning so think I will have a couple

I have had COPD for many years and I still don't know if eventually I will have to go on oxygen. I manage my condition pretty much myself I do go to Maintenance excercise classes and have been o.k. for the last couple of years since being put on azithromycin. I can't walk far and as with most people

Hello :)
I've spent ages reading the forums - didnt realise they existed until recently! I've been looking for experiences with Xolair, as I have my outpatient appointment at Papworth tomorrow and want to ask them if they will consider it for me. I have severe asthma, with allergies - which I may cope with

It seems nowadays it takes about three hours from waking until I am able to go out. I take omprazole immediately I wake then cannot take any other tablets for 1 hour (I don't take it at night time because I like a couple of glasses of vino. :) I use my brycanil and wait 20 mins before I can

My lungs have been damaged so much that they consider that I will need a lung transplant eventually. I've been on pred and azathioprine

Hi everyone, I have recently been diagnosed with mild to moderate Bronchiectasis.
This week the Consultant has put me on Azithromycin for 1wk and then every Mon, Wed and Fri following. I believe from the Consultant that this regime of drugs has had good results with patients, who like me, suffer from recurring lung infections. Has anyone out there any info to add. Maximonkey

had my chest xray results today I've a chest infection. Since feburary I've had a cough, costronditis and now an infection. Got to take erythromycin 4 times a day. then go back in a few months for another chest xray. I'm glad I know what's wrong finally, my chest has been killing me for four months.

How long does Prednisolone take to work?
My son (aged 8) is on a course of Azithromycin antibiotics and a 3 day course of Prednisolone tablets (6 tablets each day). In your experience, how long does it take for you to notice an improvement in your symptoms after taking Prednisolone? It always seems to take over 24 hours to see an improvement

Antibiotics do help!
Got
azythromycin
. Took 500mgx3 days , then 750mg 1x weekly as advised on some sites. after 2 weeks i stopped using the steroid inhaler, the node spray and the singulair. The wheezing is reduced by 95%; coughing almost completely gone, sinus much clearer.
